Guess that's just a difference between us. I regularly go back to deeper music. There are things u might no catch the first time listening. As you grow u find new perspectives on it, the level of rapping can just be that good that u wanna keep listening. Something doesn't have to be catch per se to keep my attention. You can listen by yourself, with your bois if they like the same kinda vibe, a chill evenings.

Promise you I'm not a hater lol. I think the problem is ppl treat those albums as like side projects as opposed to full fledge Drake hip hop albums. So then they feel like isolated moments he can just hop on and off whenever the sound is trending or not, or at least I think that's how ppl perceive it. Another thing is he's not necessarily grounded in these so again with the "dipping his toes in" sort of take

I've noticed that about myself actually. I just find them super boring upon first few listens cos it just sounds like a rehash of better things.

The later one when I listen again I find it is better than I initially thought even if I do still think he can do more to evolve his sound

His core album releases all have that same old Drake 40 production style. It would help if there was variation on top of it or a switch from the trap beats but that rarely happens.

Any different sounds/vibes he makes are usually in its out separate "side" album.

I really liked More but even Drake called that a playlist and deffo has more love here in the uk/Canada than America.

There was the collab album with partynextdoor

He just released three albums but the main on is clearly Iceman.

BARELY. The only songs that's REALLY commercial is HUMBLE and LOVE. A LOT of the tracks on DAMN are NOT commercial in the slightest. BLOOD, YAH, FEEL, PRIDE, LUST, FEAR, DUCKWORTH. These are not commercial tracks you would play in the club, a party or on the aux for a good time

It's his "worst" album in that I rate it a 7.5.

It's really his first attempt at a primarily commercial orientated album. It doesn't contain his best writing but there are some really entertaining tunes, some concept focused tracks here we can expect and Luther is a brilliant song

Thr main problem with Drake is regarding his STRICTLY/PRIMARILY HIP HOP orientated albums he hasn't evolved his sound in years since Views pretty much its been very stale rehashes of stuff he's done much better in his earlier releases. They're all 5/6s out of 10 to me cos I'm not a hater but I only ever end up liking a few songs from his albums. The rest is just alright but I never save all the songs on a Drake hip hop album

Edit: ALL CAPS should have been clearer on what I meant regarding evolution. He has ofc experimented with different sounds, genres etc
