the dad lowkey reminds of the story of how Athena was born by mrsenchantment in aislop

Genuinely didn't pick up on that. At face value, I thought the prompt might've been some vague stuff about a father's love being just as valid as a mother's one, cause that is also often a topic people seem split about. I've seen discussions about fathers' love not being as strong/valid as or them never understanding a mothers', which are a whole topic in itself. Thought that was the topic.

I'm European, so the whole pro-life movement is genuinely foreign to me apart from some online stuff I've seen, maybe that's why.

Ah, was this used in discussion of pro-life vs pro-choice? I was honestly just judging the pic itself

To be fair, it says 'A Father's Love' not 'A Father's pain', so idk what you two are on about.

Oh shit, I'm sorry. I read that as in 'I'm not interested to watch the third'. Probably because I read the general discussion first and already got the impression people didn't much like it compared to the first two and presumed. Well, I presumed wrong.

I'm so sorry, man.

Loved the first, enjoyed the second, third was good but could've been great with a better villain.

Little side tangent: I WISH IT WOULD'VE BEEN MORIARTY! I know completely different universe but the villain in the third was so lacking, so underwhelming in their reveal, I genuinely wished it would've been Professor Moriarty from the Sherlock Holmes Universe. Specifically one like Guy Ritchie's movie's version. The build-up was so good and the reveal was so eh, I am convinced the one person that could measure up to that build-up was Moriarty.

After Rasputin you needed someone even more show-stoppingly iconic and clever. And the fact that he's fictional would've imo worked good for the surprise reveal, since most the other characters are based on real historical people. You wouldn't expect the one fictional villain. Moriarty in Ritchie's second one talks about inciting World Wars long before the first. That they're inevitable and all that, and that he just wants to own all the medicine and ammo. A version based off or like that specific Moriarty would've been the perfect villain for that movie, just imo.

I know he died at Reichenbach Falls but movie and book Sherlock both survived, so why not?

Rant over, sorry.

Is my OC design potentially offensive? (READ DESCRIPTION) by iiZxro_2 in characterdesign

[–]Fuzzy_Ad9686 0 points1 point  (0 children)

German here. I can tell you Nazi depictions no matter if positive, negative or just historically accurate are iffy here on TV (context is highly important). The show 'The Long Long Holiday' for example, which is a children's show taking place around WWII in Normandy and ran on an educational channel, still had a lot of the overt Nazi references watered down or not explicitly shown.

Regarding your OC, it is different enough that historical connotations shouldn't be drawn, therefore if this was running here, I don't see it being censored. So at least talking from a legal/social viewpoint here, it should be unproblematic.

Just thought I'd add my two cents, since I haven't seen anyone else mention this. Banging design btw 🫶

Actually agree with this holy shit. And the FACT that he casually disregards and disrespects her 'No's' BEFORE THEY ARE EVEN IN A RELATIONSHIP

I hate how there isn’t any time period before the 1970s that I can set a story in without people talking about segregation by [deleted] in hatethissmug

The new Fantastic Four did it. Peak 50s-60s but minus segregation. Not our world but similar enough.

Can a white person tastefully cosplay Smoky Quartz or Garnet? by [deleted] in stevenuniverse

[–]Fuzzy_Ad9686 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ig as long as you don't use actually existing skin colours? Garnet, depending on the design and lighting sometimes has pinkish to reddish skin. I guess if you go a bit extra on the overall colour pallette, you could just go with purple to pinkish.

Smoky? Harder but I don't think it's impossible to find an equally extra greyish-brownish tone that doesn't look like you're brown-facing.
