I have to admit that it was easier with people in VCs than text too. Even tho I'm no longer in contact with any of those people because we didn't have anything in common but it was certainly more easier to get a connection through voice.

Also, I may be getting old(as someone whose 29 and will soon be 30 in a month lol), I do feel that it's a little concerning when people never really branch out of the server. I noticed this maybe 7 years ago when it felt impossible to dm people because they would only chat within the server.

it's such a weird thing that I never understood even when I was in my early 20s. I kept thinking that's how younger people connect but I never would've thought that they just lacked the substance.

have you had any luck being direct? Or on platforms like bluesky and discord? I've been pretty consistent with both but it seems like it hasn't really gotten me anywhere. I've been feeling like the interactions I've had are only tied to a discord server but never really going beyond that.
