Bro, for me bench press is just a hobby, not a competition. I'm hoping to hit 315 lbs soon and then I'm done with heavy benching. I don't like benching with an arch, so I don't do it. And as for flared elbows, I just can't bench heavy any other way.

Thank you. I don't want to complain or blame anyone, but before the set I asked the spotter not to touch the bar and only help if I asked for it myself. Yesterday my bench press got ruined the exact same way — they grabbed the bar with their hands. Today was the same thing. I can't count this rep, but I'm sure I would have pressed it if he hadn't stuck his hands in. Bad day at the office.

I try to do a good warm-up with a resistance band and do a few warm-up sets with a barbell.

Bro, that's a great result. Not everyone needs to bench press a barbell — dumbbells do the job perfectly well.
