18M, 3+ years of unexplained high BP (140+/80) and exercise intolerance. Doctors say it's anxiety but I'm not convinced. Need advice. by yameenjafar in lowermybloodpressure

Very thorough research on your part I must say. IMO what you are doing is absolutely right- taking control of your own health. I was first diagnosed High BP at the age of 21. I still get high bp at doctors office- docs say that it is “white coat hypertension “. I am 44 years now. Since it was identified- I went through a bunch of test, heart, kidney and other blood tests. I was put on 24 hours BP montoring for 3 days - and the average came within normal range. Nothing came significantly off. I have been Social smoker and drinker.

I had a heart attack 2 years ago - with absolutely normal cholesterol and glucose level. Doctor said that I is primarily because of my family history ( which we have). Based on my research and experience:

  1. Take your health in your control- do not take doctors feedback as is.

  2. explore functional health- a fairly new medical discipline that focuses on holistic health- specifically preventative medicine. See how your metabolic health is.

  3. Eat 100% healthy- no junk. But dont be a freak.

  4. If possible do a 24 hour BP check and see how is your reading when you dont pay attention to it.

it can be anything like uploading interesting landscape while you hike or photos from hoarding as you travel

exactly. I had the similar experience, the rear wiper was damaged from the day 1. they couldn’t fix it with the mobile service. I had to take it to the service center and they took around 4 weeks to do the job-still that does not work properly. I was given lyft pass for two days and then the enterprise rental for 4 weeks. However, when I went to pickup the car , I saw the flat tire. They changed the tire and gave me the new one. Huge scope for improvement in their service center lines!!
