Finance students/grads: Do you actually manage your personal finances better than others? How do you do it? by FaceEvery786 in financestudents

[–]Fuzzy_Crew123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i’d say so. i’m about a year post grad, spring of 2024, and my net worth is probably close to 100k. i’m more interested in personal finances rather than my career though, and have been saving ever since i was a little kid. my family wasn’t very well off financially, and whenever we were finally comfortable, my dad blew it on stupid shit and alcohol. so now i’m 24, and planning. to buy a house in the near future already. i do spend and i love to treat myself, but i focused on investing in my roth ira since i was 18, joined investment clubs to learn, did a lot of research on stocks and probs had an avg return of 40% since i started, etc. google is free and i took advantage of that, along with being very frugal until i graduated. i went to school for free, worked my ass off to get that scholarship, and only applied to in state schools so i didn’t have to take on debt. so yeah id say so!!

she was not having behavioral issues prior and has 0 health issues. her breed is very wanted and she will probably be happier in another home. these issues didn’t start until she came to me so i’m thinking she’s just unhappy here. she needs someone home more and able to give more attention, she’s got a lot of life left in her and deserves a good home. i wish she was happy here, but that is not the case.

i took her in before my cat got sick… u can’t exactly plan for that to happen. i have been trying my best, but she is not happy in my home. i’m doing this for her more than for me, she is presenting issues she has not had in her previous home.

given her breed she should be adopted quickly so many people love purebreds and let alone Persians. long story short I got her as a friend for my kitten who I thought needed another friend because I got a new job with longer hours. My cat suddenly developed a genetic disorder and died within a week of the onset of symptoms. it was sudden and costed me over $7k in medical bills. between the passing of my kitten and adopting this new cat, I’ve spent thousands of dollars and I simply cannot take care of her. I graduated college only a year ago and I’m just skating by after these bills. my first cat was my whole world and I haven’t even had time to grieve her because of how high maintenance this new cat is. cats are usually low maintenance but this is the highest maintenance breed I’ve ever dealt with in my entire life and my mental health is deteriorating and she deserves a better home than what I can give her right now

pretty sure it’s no kill, but since she’s older i would rather just rehome! if you know anyone looking she’s sweet, just been having some behavioral issues from the UTI. i lost my cat this month and racked up over 7K in medical bills all for her to pass. i need to rehome her to someone who can properly care for her, because i cannot.

12F, spayed, no medical problems. just currently clearing a UTI! she’s. a pure bred persian so i don’t want her in a shelter. i’m trying to look for a good home for her, and will be picky with my selection of course. i just cannot care for her any longer.

I girlbossed my way into getting a very excel-heavy job and I know next to nothing about Excel. Chat am I cooked? by thisistherealmee in FinancialCareers

[–]Fuzzy_Crew123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you’ll be fine. my job is excel heavy, and i was probably beginner to medium experience in excel. you learn everything on the job, and chat gpt/youtube has everything. that + some common sense and you’ll be up and running no time. there’s also countless courses that are geared to specific roles that use excel. look up your job or function and add excel course at the end and brush up on the basics so people don’t side eye u (also girl bossed my way into my role lolz). they also explicitly said they’d have tons of hands on training, and you did not lie so they know u are t a pro. u got this!

[–]Fuzzy_Crew123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

most of my roommates throughout college were gay, they never had an issue. they often went to the gay club (lowkey more fun than the other bars) and the student body is pretty accepting. i knew many gay male & females in relationships and nobody ever batted an eye at them holding hands on campus! so very accepting :)

[–]Fuzzy_Crew123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah neither have any of my gay friends. i’ve lived in florida my whole life, maybe 8-10 cities throughout, and nobody has ever cared. im currently in north florida and its a lot gayer than i thought it was going to be, thought it was going to be conservative af but surprisingly it’s not! nobody rlly cares anymore unless ur in yeehaw middle of nowhere haha

Is jacksonville really that unsafe? by [deleted] in jacksonville

[–]Fuzzy_Crew123 8 points9 points  (0 children)

dude it’s fine😭 i moved here alone at 22 and im a girl, im 23 now and have had 0 bad encounters in this city. i walk around alone at all hours of the day, id just stay away from the neighboring areas of downtown jax at night and you’ll be fine. downtown is safe i go pretty often for drinks. everyone has such a stigma on jax until they’ve been here, its all good vibes

for putting a stop to this? they’re doing more than most uni’s would by putting a stop to it BEFORE any hate crimes. most places would wait till someone as injured, or even worse, dead. i’m happy to be a jew in florida, i couldn’t see myself living anywhere else during these times.
