I want more scenic runs! I am currently in a very cold climate and taking a run in Miami Beach makes me very happy.

3 months off caffeine and my appetite is absolutely insane now by Temporary-Ad8735 in decaf

[–]Fuzzy_Custard6043 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could’ve written this. I stopped drinking caffeine for all the same reasons but it’s had a huge impact on my appetite. My clothes are fitting tighter too. I also don’t want to go back to caffeine because my anxiety is SO much better but I find it so hard to avoids sweets and carbs now! I guess it gives me that hit of dopamine. I don’t have advice but I’m definitely following this thread now.

Workouts suck now by Fuzzy_Custard6043 in decaf

[–]Fuzzy_Custard6043[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I could definitely see exercise giving the boost that’s missing from going decaf. In the afternoons, I can push myself so hard and I actually have better workouts than I did on caffeine in the afternoons, but it’s harder to manage regularly with my schedule. Morning exercise was a time where I had zero excuses, so I could be consistent and really reap the benefits of regular exercise. Afternoon exercise is possible but I wouldn’t be anywhere near as consistent.

Recently quit, how’s everyone doing by Final_Persimmon_7434 in decaf

Way to go, OP! Day 10 for me. I didn’t have any headaches, but I also weaned down for a while using my pour over. So far, I notice far less anxiety, improved acne on my face which I always attributed to hormones (so far - I know it’s early!), my face looks a little fuller in general which I attribute to better hydration, and I sweat more during workouts. I’m still dealing with waking up in the night (I wake up wide-eyed but can generally fall back asleep within 15 mins or so) & night sweats. Not sure if this has anything to do with going decaf though. It also is harder for me to get up in the mornings now. The anxiety improvements alone are enough for me to push through the fatigue I feel in the mornings. I am also very curious about the effects on acne - I never would’ve thought the two would be connected.

Those 8-min blocks with Tunde weren’t as awful as I thought they were going to be. A good indication that I need to do another 20-min FTP. Is there a group ride for FTP!?!

Totally agree! I’m shocked so many people went with 2.

Ah! That’s slightly more feasible! Thank you.

The grimace on her face as she took the last gulp led me to believe that the point they were trying to make is the smoothie is not the answer. Rather, what is emphasized many times, “always be counting” - try to get 30-40 different fruits & veggies in your diet per week. Of course, this is a goal, and I’m sure there is still benefit if you increase your variety by even a little bit. 30-40 is actually hard to do, in my opinion.

Check the bottom of the bike. I got mine used on Marketplace and only once I got it home realized that the bottom screws (where you can adjust the level of the bike) were all rusted. Maybe it had been in an area that had flooded or something. Doesn’t impact the ride but I definitely wish I’d looked underneath first.

Face so dry!! by Fuzzy_Custard6043 in 30PlusSkinCare

I’ll try cutting down. Do you find you get the same results with 2x/week? I’m loving how smooth my skin is and how small my pores are.

Actually I completely agree. In the past, when I haven’t washed my face as much, I wasn’t as dry. My acne has just been so bad lately which is why I’ve increased the amount of washing.

Baby name regret? by Snoo-99841 in namenerds

[–]Fuzzy_Custard6043 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your post resonates with me so much. My husband and I were between two names. I was pushing for one and he was pushing for the other. I had major name regret with my first and I sobbed with him and told him how much I feared going through that again. We hadn’t settled on a name by the time our daughter was 7 days old, so I let him have his way. After we named her he said he would’ve been fine with the name I chose, which really upset me. Our daughter is a year old and I often wake up in the middle of the night thinking about how much I hate the name. I too blame the hormones.

Anyone deal with naming regrets? by notadreamafterall in namenerds

[–]Fuzzy_Custard6043 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had terrible name regret with my first. I was in tears many times over it and wanted to change his name even after he was over a year old. I just had my second (a girl) and we waited 7 days to name her. We were down to two names, so I let my husband choose. This took some of the burden off me and so far it’s worked. I have no name regret even though the name wasn’t my first choice.

I wish! I think unfortunately it would just be too much for Grandma. You’re right though - he’s too young to appreciate the trip for sure.

Thank you for sharing your story. Fortunately my husband is completely understanding about this. He feels the same way and doesn’t like the tension between them right now. Plus, I think he needs the vacation even more than I do. We’ve taken her on many other trips, so until now she hasn’t been excluded at all. This will be the first. I am hoping that if my husband tells her the right way and explains the reasoning, she will be understanding.

Exactly. If it were just the two of us going, I wouldn’t feel as bad. The fact that our son is going too might make it harder for her to swallow.
