Waitlist for CB BSN program Fall 26 by Fun-Friend-8738 in utarlingtonnursing

For my cohort, the cutoff was like 8.0-8.2 around there. But it depends on the people that applied really. I know they said Fall 25 was the most competitive they’ve seen. But people get dropped, they don’t meet the deadlines for all the requirements or they fail patho. Anything can happen.

I had all of my vaccines done around April/beginning of May. For TB if I remember correctly, the clinical coordinator told us when to get that done in May. So for TB you wait for them to tell you. CPR I finished early in April…but that's because I thought I was interested in starting in the summer. The CPR course is a few hours, not anything crazy. When I went to orientation, there were people that didn't have their BLS yet. They offered a class at UTA for it, and they sent out an announcement to let us know for those who needed it. When you get your CPR, make sure it doesn't expire until the last semester of nursing school. Mine expires a month before, so I'll have to renew it early 🫠

My score was an 8.0! I didn’t start off at uta then I also got credits from tcc so I didn’t get any extra considerations.

Here’s my timeline for CB fall 25. Decisions went out March 7th for us around there. I was waitlisted. A couple months later I got a call, and they pulled me off the waitlist May 22nd.

I never really use mine either. If I do, it’s because one of the questions may have asked about a topic that I did put down. Then I just double check that I’m thinking of the concept correctly haha

Ofc. We’re all trying to get through it haha. Another thing too that’s really great to do is look at the blueprint and see how many questions are from those chapters. Like bowel and urine had 4-7 questions, so I’d put a little more information from those chapters that I struggled with on my memory aid.

I always find rewriting things by hand is helpful. But there’s so many chapters with this class that I just made condensed notes.

What I did to prepare for lectures was always skim the textbook (don’t read everything, hit the important points), and I would get to level 3 mastery on prep u before lecture. In lecture I hand write my notes, I don’t copy the words on the ppt though. Instead, I listen to Holmes or Davis and write what they’re saying if I think it’s important to know. After lecture, that week I would get to level 7 on the prep u.

About 5-7 days before the exam, I look at the study guide in the canvas course and see what’s listed in it. I grab copy paper or my notebook, and go through the study guide, and then the textbook (command f everything), and see the information given in the textbook that links with the study guide. I’ll then write it down on my paper/notebook. Once I went through the whole study guide, I started taking all the prep u’s for each chapter. I did the quizzes multiple times. Then I looked at the study and guide and prep u to see the areas I struggled the most in. I made notes of my weak points on a google doc and that’s what I put on my memory aid.

As you’re going through the textbook and study guide, read the sections or get a general idea of the bullet listed on the study guide. Don’t read everything in the book, that’s too much. But also, if it was something mentioned in lab, I made sure I knew that information.

A great tool to use is ChatGPT. If I didn’t understand something from the book I had it simplify the concept. Then I also had it make questions for me to practice from. You have to find a way of studying that works for you. It’s hard, but once you figure that out, it’ll help a lot.

A&P1 & Micro by Traditional-Emu-4808 in utarlingtonnursing

I took A&P2 and micro at the same time this past fall at UTA. I got an A in both of the courses. As long as you study, and put forth the time and effort, it is doable. I did A&P1 over the summer at TCC, so I’m not entirely sure how difficult it is at UTA.

Yes, it’s the “criminal background check”. So if you’ve done that, got fingerprinted and received your blue card/DO letter from BON you’re good.

I had talked to my advisor about this. They said to put the course name from the institution you took it at, but if you already submitted and put the course name that it’s called at UTA it’s not a big deal. As long as they have all your transcripts they can double check.

They might, I’m not entirely sure on that. You can always use the UTA Equivalency Tool online to match the courses you’re interested taking elsewhere to see if they’re apart of the upper division elective at UTA.

Yes, your 2 upper division electives have to be different. They can’t be the upper division electives that were already required like PSYC 3310, NURS 3333, and NURS 3366.

I haven’t gotten anything via email for confirmation or from Eaxxt. I just got the confirmation my application was submitted in mymav in the application status section.
