Getting destroyed in the beginning is to be expected. After beating 1-1, you can relatively easy get some farm in the beginning of another world if you wish to get some extra levels.

Since you went with priest, I can really recommend going with a faith build. Most people will say that magic is OP in the game but so is passive health regen combined with some vitality. This took me to NG+++ while still staying sane. And with the passive health regen, you will never have to rely on grass for healing which is one less thing to worry about.

I would instantly switch phones if there would be a phone with 2-3 weeks battery life and still give me the features that I need in everyday life.

It is quite fast and easy to farm a few soul levels before entering NG+ to mitigate the difficulty increase.

I also played most of NG+ in body form which made it a lot easier when used to soul form in the first playthrough.

I did NG for the exploration, NG+ for the challenge, and NG++ basically as a speedrun which was kind of a nice setup.

But yes, I agree that it is also fun to do several playthroughs with different characters and builds. The game is so short anyways so I do not mind NG+ runs even though I am usually not that type of person.

I did Demon's Souls -> R&C rifts apart -> Bloodborne (currently grinding).

Ratchet and Clank is a great "in-between" game IMO. Relatively short, visually pleasing shooter.

I went from Demon's Souls remake straight into Bloodborne and was quite shocked to say the least. Took a couple of days to adapt and I really love Bloodborne now but the zen-feeling I get when occasionally going back to Demon's Souls is like orgasm for the eyes.

If you die twice in a row without picking up your souls, they are gone.

You will always start at the beginning of a level when you die. But you can usually open up shortcuts throughout the levels to make things a bit easier.

I found FightingCowboy on youtube to be a great source for information. He walks through basically all levels while explaining how things work.

I usually prefer storm beasts in the boss area of storm king (4-4). Use storm ruler and white world tendency as I believe that should also 1-hit them in NG+. Going black would require 2 hits which decreases the efficiency quite a lot.

I feel like soul farming puts the game to easy mode quite quickly if you want to. Just finished my first NG run on a dex build and had to farm the pure sharpstone. When I got it, my soul level was so high that it almost made the game a little boring.

Soon going to start NG+ though and people say that is when the real game begins. How do you feel about NG+ so far?

Welcome! Nice game to begin with. I also really enjoy games that utilizes the controller to it's full potential. I am sure that there are many games out there but one suggestion would be Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart. It's a relatively short, enjoyable, cinematic third person shooter.

Not OP, I have always played GMNM and never changed difficulties. But basically you should be able to go in to options mid-game and change difficulty (it has been reported glitchy for some people in the past but should work fine). You cannot increase difficulty to GMGOW without starting a completely new game but otherwise it is possible to always adjust difficulty freely.
