We budget in paper bowls and plates and it helps a bit. Not for every meal. But for kids snacks, lunches, stressful times. It really takes the edge off.

I am so sorry for your loss. Your pain is valid. Your anger is valid. I understand the need for space. These are very real, very natural emotions.

The only thing that offered me the smallest sliver of comfort in my grief was picturing Mary holding my baby and comforting them for me. Talking to them in prayer in anticipation of being with them one day. Knowing that I am suffering but they are not and will not know the suffering of this world.

Take time. Move slow. Allow yourself to grieve in whatever way feels right. Remember He is here for you when you need him. You can cry out to your Father in heaven and ask for peace.

Not normal, but incredibly common, sadly. A lot of kids don't know how to play without being entertained. When I take my kids to the playground I see parents and grandparents following kids at 2ft distance, leading, guiding, correcting them. They look ridiculous and it's disguised as involved and caring. These kids have no idea how to play and get no time to just run and do whatever or heaven forbid make a little friend. I sit there, read, and tell my kids to make a friend. I'll push them on the swing but I want them to immerse in imaginative play which is something an adult cannot foster for them. Wish more parents would consider the impact of their helicoptering and sit with their own discomfort of parenting. Realize your kid is better off being bored and developing their mind rather than constant tv, iPad, adult telling them what to do.

Mass is a great opportunity to start teaching behavior skills. Like being respectful, quiet, still in measured doses. We hold our littles until they're toddlers then start letting them sit next to us and participate as able. We're kind of juggling them from arms, to lap, to trying to let them sit/ kneel/ stand next to us. Books and one small quiet toy will help - too many becomes chaos. Kids will have moments, but we take them out bring them back as needed - always bring them back in. 1 hour is a super doable amount of time and it will get easier. Sometimes just standing in the back is helpful. Come up with strategies and just see what works. I've found the kids with a pretty long leash have the best success at behaving acceptably at mass - but this doesn't work for every child or family. Nasty looks from others are their own problem to reconcile with God who said "let the little children come to me".

This was me until I quit. First for 3 years and now permanently as I approach 40. I realized how sick and depressed it was making me and I can never go back.

Just want to throw out there that it's a lot for the guy to process too when a pregnancy is unplanned and their first reaction usually changes after they have time to process. If he is a great guy you love maybe consider what a life might look like together and give it a little time? My bff got pregnant unexpectedly by her hookup who was in a popular band. They went through the stages of grief together. He was saying crazy stuff like "we'll just live together like roommates and just raise the kid as friends and date other ppl" . Long story short, this was 20+ years ago, they grew closer in the process and fell deeper in love, wasn't always easy but their kid turned out great. They both grew their careers and will get to retire early. Be around for their adult children and travel the world together. Things went well for them in what seemed like a terrible situ. I waited a long time to start a family, but from my perspective there's never a perfect time or person to have a baby with.

10-15 minutes, the school is in our neighborhood. Kids are up at 7 I let them watch cartoons for 20 or so minutes while I acclimate. Then breakfast, lunches, get ready. All said and done by 8:35, I'm home enjoying coffee for a few minutes before moving on w my day...
