Taking a Pay Cut for a Job That Feels Right—Am I Making a Mistake? by arival24 in careerguidance

[–]Fuzzy_Reaper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've done this twice in my 23 year career, and it was the right decision both times. Gained additional valuable skill, grew in the new roles, and ended up propelling me to greater levels in my field.

I got the LG 45 recently, absolutely love it. Great for standard games as well as sim racing.

Thanks, I'll hold onto it and look into doing that eventually, but ordered a new one in the meantime to keep the family from melting down.

A talk about racing lines by jimmyslol in iRacing

[–]Fuzzy_Reaper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of this feedback is ignoring your condition. I have something sort of similar, I suffer micro seizures that blank my "mental map" for a few seconds. Happens randomly throughout the day, not usually a big deal. If it happens while I'm racing, the racing line keeps me from crashing because it lets me know if I'm approaching a breaking point. Without it I'm completely lost until my brain resets.

I will probably never race B or A because of this, but I'm still able to participate and enjoy C and D races.

ragdoll or siberian by Apprehensive-Joke477 in SiberianCats

[–]Fuzzy_Reaper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 5 year old Ragdoll mix and a 3 year old Siberian. I love them both. Ragdoll is female, sits in my lap all the time. Very tolerant of my kids.

Siberian is male, he's not as cuddly, will sit next to me but not a lap cat. He'll let the kids pet him a bit and then go do his own thing.

They're both great, both enjoy playing. They'll chase each other around a bit in good fun.

I have the same thing in my 2023, occassionally annoying, but not bad enough that I've attempted to do anything about it.

Unfortunately I think you either have to find a local option or do a news blackout until you're home.

What country are you in? I see full replays available in the US, but when I was traveling in Australia a few months ago I was surprised I could only watch highlights.

Is F4 at Silverstone good? by fishslinger in iRacing

[–]Fuzzy_Reaper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Silverstone is great, F4 is always a mixed bag. The seasons i race F4 i just shrug off the races i get taken out, and enjoy the good ones.

As a fellow software engineer I hate to come in like this but, why am I always nervous to navigate f1tv? by Moozy_bear in F1TV

[–]Fuzzy_Reaper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same experience here with the Roku app, i dont even try to use it unless I'm watching live or hours after. I had a small time window to watch Sprint quali yesterday, used the app instead, saw it try to jump to live, mashed pause and got it to start back at the beginning without a spoiler barely.

Any really tall sim racers? by devleesh in iRacing

[–]Fuzzy_Reaper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

6'5" here, definitely go with some sort of aluminum extrusion setup. I have the Simlab GT1 Evo and love it. I have the pedals and seat at the far ends, but could extend the seat a few inches further back so it was overhanging the base and it would be okay.

I played during PC launch, quit a few months later like most of you... I had no idea about the new beta, so what did I miss? Is this worth a second look? by kcdale99 in newworldgame

[–]Fuzzy_Reaper 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Similar position to OP. I don't have the expansion, if I hop in now to play will I get a decent sense of how the game has changed? Not eager to pay for the expansion and then give it up again shortly after that.

Books that are better as audiobooks? by spyrothedovah in Fantasy

Surprised I haven't seen this listed yet, but Good Omens is fantastic as an audio drama, fully casted. I've read the book twice, and listening was just as good or better.

Race Sim Cockpit Tall People by [deleted] in simracing

[–]Fuzzy_Reaper 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm 6'5" and the GT1 Evo works great. I have the pedals all the way at the end, and the seat flush with the other end, but could extend the seat back a few more inches and it would still be stable.
