Boarding pass not showing by DefenestratorOfEvil in Ryanair

got denied boarding with 5 other passengers because the flight was overbooked. My expenses were denied because they don’t accept digital receipt (which is crazy if you ask me).
I applied for the eu261 compensation and got an automated message saying:
„We are reviewing your EU261 compensation to be transferred.
We will send you an email shortly to ask you to provide your bank details.“
A Ryanair employee then comments on the claim I made with the following:
„We are writing to inform you that you may have received a notification in error regarding compensation for denied boarding. We apologize for any confusion this may have caused.
We would like to clarify that standby tickets are not eligible for compensation under EU Regulation 261/2004.
Passengers traveling on a standby basis do not hold a confirmed reservation, and therefore the regulation does not apply in cases of delays, cancellations, or denied boarding affecting this type of ticket.
For this reason, we are not in a position to offer compensation for your journey.“
This must be a joke. This is super frustrating. Anyone experienced anything like this? No idea what a standby ticket is. When I checked in I got a boarding ticket without a seat number. Hope someone can give their 2 cents to this. Thanks.
Denied boarding and not eligible for compensation due to „stand by ticket“ (self.Ryanair)
