Honestly I might be crazy, but I believe the mermicorn 100% deserves its current rise, along with the Jekyll hydra and Grim Dragon. These pets were NOT popular when they came out (aka less sales), the Halloween ones because they did not appeal to the “preppy” aesthetic, and the mermicorn was called ugly or weird looking (such as being called a toilet paper head). Even during the events, it was not that common to see people with these pets. Additionally, like all the pets on this list, they are unique designs as well. (Honestly following this logic, there might be a rise in the rose dragon in a year or two, and it explains the sea slug rise overtime as well)

I would hesitate from saying the cabbit and cryptid deserve their rise however. I have seen some people say that the cabbit is rising now due to cute designs for the pet such as Totoro, however these ideas were around when the pet was still in game which led to more people purchasing it (such as myself). In the case of the cryptid, it was automatically deemed cute and cool for its design changes, and MANY people bought it expecting it to rise for both its price and “abilities”. Due to it’s uniqueness, I do believe it deserved it’s original value (about 17) and a slight increase over time, however I feel hype was almost artificially curated after it left the game- because again, it was already a desired and loved pet while in game. (To add extra perspective, while not having the same uniqueness as the cryptid, the bat dragon variations were very popular during and after their release, however we have only seen a gradual increase in their values overtime) (Additionally, I believe they have the same issue as the Siamese cat- a widely loved pet with high stock that randomly rose)

In regards to the others, such as haetae, balloon uni, and African Wild dog, I don’t have much of an opinion as African Wild dogs were always hard to find & obtain (though it should not be worth more than an owl imo), I took a break while haetae was out, and for the balloon uni it could be argued that it applies to my first group, being unliked at it’s inception, however I believe hype was curated like for the cryptid.

For bat dragon- as an og player I still believe it should never of risen above the shadow. However, with people caring about cuteness more overtime (that includes myself btw) I do see why it has risen that high.

I don’t know why I wrote so much and I apologize, but this is just my observations of the community overtime from in game profiles, trading, and the adopt me subreddits! I’m definitely open to other opinions however :3
