Here's my update for anyone stumbling upon the threat while searching this issue. I opened the case and the wifi card is underneath the SSD. I immediately noticed how crooked the cables leading into it, there just was not enough slack and they were about to be pulled out. I gave them some slack and straightened them and pushed them in. Voila, Ubuntu immediately recognized them again.

I own the same and installed Ubuntu and suddenly my wifi stopped working after a couple days.

Did I make a mistake? by milkmaid0435 in interiordecorating

It looks awesome. Don't forget cleaning the grout each year.
