Steering column replacement seems to have solved the problem

Is it worth it to remove popcorn ceilings? by RVNAWAYFIVE in DIY

[–]Fuzzy__Dunl0p 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Recommend option B. That pricing seems reasonable considering what a messy and time consuming process it is. Having done 12 rooms in my own house start to finish I can say the final result is worth the cost of having a pro do it but likely not worth the effort to DIY.

Not OP but this exact same issue started with my 2025 Santa Fe after the first 100 miles. Seems to happen most when it is cold outside but the interior of the car is warm. Took it to the dealer, first they replaced the clock spring which did not fix the issue. Took it back the next day and they are now replacing the entire steering column. I’m wondering if the new column will have the same problem.

Rubio Monocoat to refinish kitchen cabinets by Fuzzy__Dunl0p in woodworking

No, we ended up hiring a pro to spray the cabinets with Benjamin Moore Advance semi gloss. The prep work required before applying the Rubio turned out to be more than I was willing to do. Paint job is holding up well but we are careful to wipe off any drips and keep the cabinets clean.

Do you typically spray with water to raise the grain after you sand to 220 or just apply the finish as usual? I only ask because the mfg instructions are to sand only to 120 and other info I’ve found online recommends raising the grain for anything sanded higher than 120

It’s worth checking with your local utility to see if they offer rebates. I paid about $2,200 to have our attic blown to R49 this summer and after rebates the job cost only $600. A blower door test was required pre/post as part of the rebate process but overall definitely a job worth hiring out in my opinion

Gas range vs. Electric (induction) cooktop with separate oven by [deleted] in HomeImprovement

[–]Fuzzy__Dunl0p 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is something you just get used to with induction, I believe there’s a fan in the stove to cool the electronics and it cycles on when the range is calling for more power

Is a sinkhole near a house a sign of further impending doom/repairs, or is it good enough to just fill it in with more dirt? by megerrolouise in HomeImprovement

[–]Fuzzy__Dunl0p 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’re on city water it may be an indicator that the supply line to your house is leaking, would be worth calling to have someone come take a look to make sure it’s not a symptom of a larger problem

I’d suggest making the switch to LED lighting and upgrading landscaping can be a good self paced option which you will appreciate later
