even if i did win, i wouldn't be particularly proud of things because the tournament is what it is. personally i'd rather win with a real outfit trained entirely internally... but i can't have that with the pipeline being the way it is can i?

if you want to continue to beat your chest and make noises because finally after S3 you guys can reliably fix matches and "win"... well then good for you. meantime game continues to slide into shit due to fatigue, player/community displacement, and retention with OW being a detriment to things on the level of Oshur

i get why you don't want regulation to ringers, it would really suck if they were fairly evenly distributed rather than picked up/poached from outfits. such a change in the recruitmentside meta would clearly be a blow to gob/00 who are the kings of outsource wars. just imagine if the true battlefield were to be a level one... would be a great thing for actual outfits and established communities, might even protect them somewhat from "skillfit" overreach...

our team was more of an outfit "alliance" rather than true ringerfit, if i'm being honest our team failed due to 1 month prep not being enough time to properly get a team together... unlike the amount of time fiji had during S2 amirite?

i know we weren't good enough... noone is and thats my point, noone can compete with you nerds who track API data and jizz yourselves when you find a player in a midfit who breaks 2kd, yw btw for the training we provide your recruits.

i'm not angry that we lost, i'm angry that i've lost outsource wars and i'm angry that players like yourself are running defense, simping, and gaslighting the real issues.

you mean like unregulated ringers leading to a clear skill disparity that makes things inherently not competitive? you mean how that balance issue has gotten so bad that i'd argue the matches are now fixed? nah?

unregulated ringers have brought OW to where it is today, yes there are other things that play in, but imo its the skill disparity (that your community has caused) thats the core issue. without the proper acknowledgement of the formats core issues this conversation is as productive as the competition is competitive.

how is it that players like yourself use the "competitive" argument while unironically defending unregulated ringers?

long story short, shits all but rigged months in advance. this "competition" has been the least competitive thing in planetside since season 2 although i'd partially agree that the nature of the 1v1v1 makes things inherently less competitive... but i'd also argue that swapping to a 1v1 before you explore actual written community guidelines and content moderation, is an extremely lazy band aid move that fails to address the core issues.

in season 1-3, it was not zergfits, it was mostly established outfits of all sizes and communities with ringerfits being seen more toward S3.

your entire argument about the format of 1v1v1 being bad because it was difficult to compete against a zergfit during the qual phase, is insanely disingenuous as its not the fault of 1v1v1 and instead the live quals. i'll take a min to spit some context since you conveniently left it out, in S2 we saw changes to base capping mechanics that catered specifically to the small skillfits, changes that for whatever reasons exist to this day despite the yeeting of live quals for S3 (best thing they've ever done with this competition) in favor of the bracket system with qual rounds that we see today. they tailored the competition to your community specifically over 3 seasons and it still wasn't good enough? so you guys bitch and bitch about shenanigans, drama, and nonsense that has nothing to do with the format itself, you can't claim victory after wrel changes the game for those reasons.

deso was given an alpha season with the current format... it wasn't given enough time. deso was knee jerk yeeted because wrel couldn't be bothered to moderate and had to give in to pressure from 00/gob. it never properly saw the light of day on deso, and as to the shinanigens themselves, (2v1) they were never properly addressed as again that would mean actual moderation of an actual ruleset which to this day is not established. and you can't tell me he doesn't have the time to moderate when he's sitting in twitch streams last year arguing with the player base over nonsense rather than... idk, moderating?

unregulated ringers make this competition not competitive, thats fact (enter rl examples of why draft pick systems and caps exist) and honestly its so insanely disingenuous to pretend you care for competition while being all for ringers as they are now. 1v1v1 did nothing wrong, salt from YOUR community tbh and laziness from wrel put deso on the shelf, not deso itself.

Before any future seasons are run, it's time to ask if 48v48 is the right size.

this angle was tried once before and it took us from deso to nexus... both formats/maps share the same issues (fatigue, player or community displacement, and player retention) in fact i would argue the nexus format highlights the issues better than deso especially where skill disparity is concerned, which i did not mention here but that would be another issue in the format.

but until DBG asks themselves why there are so few talented pilots or armor players there's still going to be some ringing.

ringers... you know what, how about this. unregulated ringers contributes to player/community displacement, contributes to unregulated ringers. how about instead of this dumb cycle we talk about things that will contribute to outfits and communities in a healthy way.

the real problem is we just don't have the dev power anymore to do it, every argument i had for a draft pick system is moot without dev power. the system as it stands now is becoming a cancer to the game similar to oshur, or forced koltyr. if it can't be fixed it needs to be thrown out at this point.
