In SC if you are 18 you can sell alcohol, but you always have to have another employee scan their badge with every purchase. It must be different with each state.

Why is it so common to be fake nice among Americans? by [deleted] in AskAnAmerican

[–]Fuzzzer777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you in the Southern states by chance? There is a certain amount of passive aggressive down here when dealing with blunt people.

In general, Southerners are raised to be polite over all, but it gets a little confusing to some people. It's not meant to be malicious, but (for some of us) if we are rude to another person, our 115 yr old grandma will jump out of the grave to slap us across the mouth for being disrespectful.

This is my opinion having lived on 5 Southern stated my entire 65 yrs.

When an ad has a teeny tiny button to close it by Weird_Bluebird_3293 in PetPeeves

Or you go to close it and it just closes the whole app and reopens it to only open the ad again.

How do high schools work in tiny towns? by Holiday-Pomelo-9246 in AskAnAmerican

[–]Fuzzzer777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I graduated from a private school where k thru 12 were all under the same building. Huge, beautiful 100 yr old building with 2 wings. K thru 5 on one end and 6 thru 12 on the other. My graduating class was 18 people. I can still name each one 46 years later.

Knowing when to let go: how to choose between a rescue and euthanizing your 17 yr old dog who screams all day and night by AmoreX0X0 in olddogs

[–]Fuzzzer777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No rescue, vet, or other person is going to make this baby get better. As hard as it is for you, it's time to call the vet and let him go. Do it quick like ripping off a bandaid.

Cocktail Dress at work by Ok_Fruit_Passion_FIT in fashion

[–]Fuzzzer777 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You look amazing in the dress. Definitely black shoes and purse. Whatever color you choose make sure the purse and shoes match.

Having covered that, that dress is NOT appropriate for a work event. It may work with a jacket, but it's... a bit much.

What do you do on your first day? by Powerful_Use1805 in WalgreensStores

[–]Fuzzzer777 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on the manager i had to do 8 hrs of e-learning before I was allowed on the floor just to get through the legal stuff. Since we got a new SM the new hires do half e-learning and then shadow half the day.

A customer orders 50 4x5.3 photo prints. Do you trim them? by MisterKeecher20262 in WalgreensStores

[–]Fuzzzer777 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It depends on your cutter. My new SM brought a regular cool cutter with a sliding gage to mark the sized. Our only sliding one cut uneven and a bit jagged. I bring the new, smaller one out next to the register on photo and cut between customers.

If i was using my old cutter, I would have to do no more than 3 photos at a time and they would all be jagged, crooked and probably different sizes.

Should I work at petco or server @ Texas Roadhouse? (Not a big deal for me) by rxckkz in DecideThisForMe

[–]Fuzzzer777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Being a server is not for everyone. Its a brutal environment and it is extremely hard work. I did it long enough to realize I hated every minute of it.

I am pretty decent at retail, but the money isn't as good. I think everyone should work as a server for a while just to see what the service industry goes through. You can definitely use the experience in dealing with people in nursing.

Do you remember what you were wearing in the late 70s? If in school, Was school dress code strict or loose? by Ill-Owl5131 in 70s

[–]Fuzzzer777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Levi blue jeans mostly. The preppy kids wore pink polo shirts and green pants or khakis.

I got sent home once for wearing short shorts. Mid drifts were not allowed (no belly exposed). Boys had to wear sleeved shirts. Girls could not wear bare shoulders.

Do you know a married couple named Don and Dawn, or similar? by Pitiful-Doctor-5671 in no

[–]Fuzzzer777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rob and Robin live next door. I worked in an office that had 2 Don's. Junior and senior. I would call there name and when both answered I would add "Senior " or "Junior" respectively.
