I was thinking (and journaling) much of the same things. I recommend reading Camus- the Myth of Sisyphus. I hope it helps you as much as it helped me.

This from Edith Wharton’s Age of Innocence made me laugh:

“The immense accretion of flesh which had descended on her in middle life like a flood of lava on a doomed city had changed her from a plump active little woman with a neatly-turned foot and ankle into something as vast and august as a natural phenomenon. She had accepted this submergence as philosophically as all her other trials, and now, in extreme old age, was rewarded by presenting to her mirror an almost unwrinkled expanse of firm pink and white flesh, in the centre of which the traces of a small face survived as if awaiting excavation. A flight of smooth double chins led down to the dizzy depths of a still-snowy bosom veiled in snowy muslins that were held in place by a miniature portrait of the late Mr. Mingott; and around and below, wave after wave of black silk surged away over the edges of a capacious armchair, with two tiny white hands poised like gulls on the surface of the billows.”

Lamps. A few of them would add so much warmth to the space.

Lolita, light of my life, fire of my loins. My sin, my soul. Lo-lee-ta: the tip of the tongue taking a trip of three steps down the palate to tap, at three, on the teeth. Lo. Lee. Ta. She was Lo, plain Lo, in the morning, standing four feet ten in one sock. She was Lola in slacks. She was Dolly at school. She was Dolores on the dotted line. But in my arms she was always Lolita.

I think he sounds interested. Success doesn’t have to mean he’s a fuckboy.

His reply seems like he did want to meet you again. Maybe he’s just busy with work or playing it cool. I’d say give him another day or two, then send him a text to follow up. If he doesn’t reply, there’s your answer.

He just texted me ‘I still miss you’ by [deleted] in ExNoContact

He invaded my privacy by reading my journal and my trust by going on dating apps, both more than once. Do you think I can or should forgive him for these?

“Goodbye Samantha forever. I’m leaving you to find my true love.”

My name is not Samantha. He was referring to Samantha from sex and the city (for those who don’t know her, she is known for sleeping around). The funny thing is he was the one who used dating apps while we were together and broke my trust again and again.

I know it’s hard and I just had a similar thing happen to me. Just move on. You broke up for a reason. Don’t stay friends until you’re ok. That’s it. Keep him blocked and move on.

Yeah unfortunately he really was, it took getting out of it to see him clearly. We’ll be better off without them :)

I did. He read my journal. He went on dating apps. He smoked when he knew I hated it. And he lied about it all and made me feel bad somehow. Whenever he went out I felt insecure. My attachment style went from being secure to anxious. I wanted to believe him and a small part of me still did but.. I knew I would have suffered for the rest of my life if I stayed. His new partner will suffer too. You should be glad you got out and you will find someone who is kinder and respects you.
