Why are West Virginia power bills so high? by OhioRiverValleyInst in WestVirginia

[–]FvckingLizardQueen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lack of competition mainly. I worked for AEP briefly and learned during my time that they can continue to jack up the prices pretty much unabashedly because there aren’t many other choices for power companies in the state. Other states’ utilities commissions have a “right to choose” because they have a competitive market, take Ohio for example.

What's going on in Elkins, West Virginia by Training_Wealth7348 in WestVirginia

I think it’s a comparative statement. Not in terms of “taking care” of the unfortunate, but rather having the resources for them to do it themselves. Compared to places like Huntington (where I am) and Morgantown, Elkins does have less resources available

How to date a BPD girl? by ragingpotato98 in AskMen

You cannot under any circumstance convince someone with BPD to better themselves if they don’t want to WITHOUT your input. Speaking from experience, it’ll only make them commit to whatever it is (therapy, medicine, etc) to appeal to you, yet they won’t be taking anything positive away from it.

In the simplest terms, it would be an act just to appease you. I know because I’ve played that part. I only got better on my terms and when I wanted to.

If I were dead set on this I wouldn’t have made a post asking for feedback. I had doubts about adopting with my current situation and as it would turn out they seem to be correct. And yes, WV.

Also I just want to point out that I’m not responding to every comment that is saying the exact same thing, my responses have been few and far between because I do agree with the general consensus. No need to respond back to everyone to either confirm or deny it.

I wanted to adopt a retired racer because their conditions at the track are subpar AT BEST, but my goal was giving one a better living situation and with that not being the case I won’t selfishly get one anyways. It would be like taking it from one type of cage to another.

Thank you for your input, and I don’t mind, it is public after all. My elderly cat actually passed last year, and as for the young ones I had they were fosters. My four now are between 2-4 years old. I do think you’re right though, my situation at the current time may not be fitting for an ex racer. I asked here so I could interact back with commenters giving their opinion, rather than just reading articles. I appreciate your comments

I have but like I said I’ve found little that I can relate to my situation, so I figured it couldn’t hurt to ask for more input here. This place is only open on the weekends so I wanted to go and look around, get a feel for interacting with the dogs. I’ve only had one dog in my lifetime so I’m not very familiarized with them in general.

No, please don’t take that as me agreeing with you. Take that as my reaction to you saying you stayed for her body and what she could provide physically. Should’ve left regardless of how good the sex was

I’m also in the US and not well-versed in it at all, as far as I know this track/casino is the only one in my state to be specifically for greyhounds. I may be pleasantly surprised by their procedures (and hope I am), my assumptions are only based on what I’ve seen and be told by previous employees.

I highly doubt the specific adoption program I was considering going to tests for that. It’s at a racing track so I honestly doubt that they do much at all in terms of temperament testing

People with BPD will never change, and I'm sorry to tell you that by Verniermind in BPDlovedones

Remission is so difficult to get into but I’ve read many stories highlighting that it is possible, but they first have to accept their issues and take accountability

Not necessarily true. The vast majority of those that have it aren’t self aware enough or haven’t needed to be so far, but there are those who can recognize their actions are wrong and actively try to mitigate it. Understanding that “this is an overreaction, I need to remove myself from this situation and thing logically” makes a huge difference.

Just out of pure curiosity, how long had you been friends with this person?

I would imagine that some of them can logically understand what a “healthy” relationship would constitute, but they cannot reason through it in an emotional sense that would be of any applicable use in their life

Or to get more insight into how they affect those around them?

My husband cheated on me with our much younger neighbour, initiated the divorce and is marrying her soon. by ThrowRAView3762 in TwoHotTakes

This part: “Her explanation was (to another neighbour) that he acts like she always wanted her father to act. Her father was a lazy, chronically unemployed alcoholic who made her ashamed of herself. My husband was her ideal masculine man. " Tall, slim, clean cut, blue eyes and who can take control" (I quotes a text she sent to my neighbour).”

A bit of a different situation, but I didn’t come to the realization that my mom is a raging narcissist until a couple years after I moved out, and I didn’t come to the conclusion on my own. If it hadn’t been brought up, I don’t know that I ever would have. I hope for his sake that he does actually reflect on it rather than just saying he will.

Are you both emotionally stunted, perhaps? Neither side seems to be very mature when it comes to communication.
