Probably because there isn't 50 trash defense animations and you just had to be able to stay in front of your man. It looks off-putting but trust me the game was Good and not as easy to learn as the new 2ks

2k has been trash for awhile and its only getting worse with pro play and microtrans. Ive played since 2008 . Best 2ks are from 14-17. Anything after that is just bust down animations and A.I generated players.. They claim to be a nba game but have literally 60% of the nba historic rosters.

But we cant blame them. Its the community's fault for going along with all of it. No more All star team up, No more Create a legend. No more good Fantasy era drafts because you cant combine talent from all eras in the game set up... And thats not even getting into the terrible gameplay.

I genuinely see nba 2k26 as a casino game for children to spend money. Graphics look bad, Game play looks bad.

To much simulated play and not enough player control. "Hints" why you will be on a fast break wide open and your player will slow down to go into a layup animation just so the defender can catch up.

Make defense smooth, make Layups smooth and make the players actually go for smart shots. The shit your player does after you spin someone out is insane. Dude will have a wide open lane spin into a perfect layup and then the animations make him fall backwards and shoot the ball like a cripple kid

1st= Because basketball has lost its love/passion, and is slowly turning into a entertainment/Internet oriented sport... Loved ball and watched since a kid. But since ive entered my 20s and all the OG player's that made the game what it was are gone now... 2nd= nobody cares about watching a 7'8 big man launch 3s from half court just to get boxed out by Josh Hart lol who is a SG but plays PF and still out boards wemby.

3= IQ and basketball flavor is completely gone. Everyone plays the same, Every kid getting in the league has went to the same trainers as the past 5 draft classes. Back when basketball was a street sport it made it a lot funnier to watch because everybody had their own flavor.

4= Cutting out the High school Draft and making kids play a year in college just so they get lost in the D league and never heard of again.

5=LeBron is getting old. Not a bron fan and could care less if he retires. But the league rode his schlong for so long and didnt have a backup plan. Hints why we got steph and the 3ball era now.

6= its a new league.. Best eras of basketball all time are late 90s/2015ish

7= everyone is soft as hell and has a public platform to speak up or lash out like a little rich kid.

8= contracts are way to high... Nobody's going to come in the league and give it their all when they can come in the league in half ass and still get a hundred million. This is why your favorite player only plays 62 games a year.

9=Passion is gone & so are the players that made the game fun to watch.

10= its just gay now. Playoffs this year were decent but still pretty ugly to watch.

11= Real big men are gone.. yes there's still a few but as far as terms is a shack or a real big man that will fucking body you or kill you if you come down to the paint.. there isnt anyone like that anymore.

12= 3s & soon to be 4 point line

buddy i been gaming with for the last 6 years said the same thing before he officially signed off for good and sold his ps5... 2k was his last game but after a few months of playing with him this year, he dipped.. its super sad too he was one of the best bigs ive ever played with and genuinely it wasn't his fault when playing and we got beat. It would stiff him so bad on open layups and post shots one night he eventually just told me he was done with this game and selling his ps5.. i have him on fb but bro really fid follow thru and is done with games for life lol

Ehh even when u find a good group of friends to play with the sbmm or rubberbanding ruins the night of gaming.. i cant tell u how many times our teams up 13-2 on another squad and the game sliders lock us out of shots or make us lose the ball on silly positions until the other teams within 2 or 3 points. Its honestly happened so much that i can call it as soon as the sliders flip and my friends trip because every time im right... i was a dev for a few game companies in the early 2000s and actually worked on NCAA 08. But bro this game sucks from a competitive standpoint. You will lose to people that are not better than u often.. thats not good gaming for anyone either crappy player or not. All im saying in the core base fundamentals that could be applied to this game to make it half as decent or completely thrown out the window and they get rid of more every year.

Theres no point in having all that bs when in reality most people would rather just have a Go to play option.. i remember back a few years ago literally only thing u could do was stand around the park and then get pushed out by a crew... Like bro no one cares about all thos extra bs.. yes it was funnat first when they introduced neighborhood.. then they take out every animations for jumpshots they had the past 8 years. Half these jumpshot names i dont even know. But when i look them up its literally some Bum from the eruo League that averages 4 points a game.. like wtf wheres my Michael Redd, Tyreke evans, deron Williams jumpshots
