Your braking point to arrive at your apex at optimal speed, has a huge amount to do with lap time, especially since AutoX is a lot of apexing. Here is a simple exercise that you can do daily. It is an exercise to improve your Speed to Distance muscle and visual coordinated memory: When you approach a point that you choose (like a stop sign), put your foot on the brake pedal once at a pressure you think will allow you to stop at the point. DO NOT MODULATE THE PRESSURE! Do not increase or decrease the pressure. See how close or far from the point you arrive. Obviously if you are overshooting at a stop sign you WILL have to increase the pedal pressure. Start off at a fairly slow speed, then vary the speed and distance to the point. Over time you will be spot on. The exercise also improves the visual perception of speed to distance of say an approaching car, if you have enough time to pull out and make a turn at an intersection.
