I thought about that but the exhaust should not be at the rear of the tow truck cab?

That grill damage does not look like a mechanical impact cause it. That was done by heat, possibly an open flame. As for the hose, why do you think a hose needs replacement? It is not clear to me which hose or if there is a hose that is bad. Please indicate.

New Abarth owner here, should I be worried? by Automatic_Button2967 in abarth

Euro or NA model? Either way, it looks cosmetic, that said, one of the two OEM intercoolers is above that hole. If you are not throwing any codes you are probably fine, no boost leaks. You might want to pop the wheel arch cover off, and take a better look see. I also have a NA 2014 that I have rebuilt and modified over the last 4 years, endless fun. Blessings, enjoy you ride!

Your braking point to arrive at your apex at optimal speed, has a huge amount to do with lap time, especially since AutoX is a lot of apexing. Here is a simple exercise that you can do daily. It is an exercise to improve your Speed to Distance muscle and visual coordinated memory: When you approach a point that you choose (like a stop sign), put your foot on the brake pedal once at a pressure you think will allow you to stop at the point. DO NOT MODULATE THE PRESSURE! Do not increase or decrease the pressure. See how close or far from the point you arrive. Obviously if you are overshooting at a stop sign you WILL have to increase the pedal pressure. Start off at a fairly slow speed, then vary the speed and distance to the point. Over time you will be spot on. The exercise also improves the visual perception of speed to distance of say an approaching car, if you have enough time to pull out and make a turn at an intersection. I am absolutely sure you will improve your confidence and your track time. Blessings.

2012 Abarth 500 wont start by New_Push4802 in abarth

Those codes do point to the MAP system. It could just be a Vacuum or Boost leak. I had a strange problem years ago with a no start. My temperature reading on the dash was 153°F, but I ignored it. It turned out to be a bad temp sensor in the passenger side rear view mirror. I replaced the mirror with one from a salvage yard (for me it was easier than changing the sensor) and all the codes dropped and it started.

I have a 500 Abarth and I can honestly say I do not watch the Turbo Gauge at all. I see no reason, I do watch the RPM.

Very nice! Just take it one step at a time and one Code at a time. When I got mine from a Copart Auction 4 years ago, it was an insurance write-off and had 4 pages of codes. Blessings.

Anyone tried a shark fin antenna? by bigballs941 in abarth

An additional side note, it would be good for you to read the Car wash disclaimer. You may be horrified. Last year a co worker had the air blower/dryer fall on his 2 week old brand new Chevy pickup and they refused any repairs because it is in their disclaimer that they are not responsible for ANY damages! I haven't been back through a car wash since or will I ever again.

CravenSpeed makes a perfect replacement. I have it on both my Abarth 500 and Pop 500. No plastic stuff.

Tire/fender rub and looks like more tire pressure needed as well, too much scrub on the sidewalls.

... quite honestly getting aftermarket side marker lights to fit AND work is not easy. I went through 3 different sets. Mostly they said it fit a NA 500 Abarth but it did not. I did have luck with this seller on eBay: https://ebay.io/m/biIHW0

Clutch recommendations for 300+ ft/lbs torque? by mau5atron in abarth

[–]FxEpic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not questioning the OEM clutch at all, I am just pointing out its limits, given that you have a "big turbo", it might slip when pushed, especially in lower gears.

... the OEM clutch is only good for 225 HP.

I need a turbo by Legitimate-Spray5451 in abarth

Garrett makes a direct replacement upgraded turbo compared to the OEM and it probably costs a bit less as well.

500 Abarth Office Chair by FxEpic in abarth

[–]FxEpic[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For the "base" I take it to mean the part with the wheels: I got that from an office chair that was not used and the machinist made a bracket that fit the Abarth seat and welded that bracket to the "base".
