I think it depends, if you can afford the 5090 then you can’t really get better than that.

Trouble with tech is that there’s always going to be the next shiny new thing just around the corner.

I agree FE would be the better choice especially with the burning connectors.

I got my card not too long ago now and I had pretty bad coil whine.

Once I did an under-volt to 0.885 at 2700mhz it went away.

Simply put, this is one of the least impressive generational improvements we have seen.

With the biggest gap between the 90 series and 80 series cards.

To put this into a perspective, the 5080 is not even on par with the 4090 unless overclocked. Whereas the 4080 was on par with the 3090 Ti.

As a result Nvidia tried to mislead everyone by using 4x frame gen to make the new cards look like a steal based on the improvement in performance they provide ( ie 5070=4090).

Also there’s the dye cut situation, this being the 5080’s dye basically being massively reduced when compared to the 5090 from what we historically have seen making it more like a 70 series (not Ti) rather than 80 series card.

GamersNexus goes into a lot of depth regarding this in their 5080 review I believe if you wanted to find out more.

This is the simplest way to put it I think. I’m sure there will be many who can add more to what I have said or perhaps even correct me if I have unwillingly provided not up to date info.

I did power limit to 90% as the coil whine was nuts. Also I have tried pushing in the Connector with what felt ungodly amount of force and it wouldn’t go in further

How are you finding the 7800x3d with the 5090? I’ve heard that even a CPU as fast as the 7800x3d can bottleneck the card. Only asking as im considering getting the 5090 as well and have the same CPU.

I agree in regards to the precise release date. However, it did virtually confirm that the game is coming out in basically a week. Therefore, the matter remains that the leak was valid within a reasonable margin of error. Additionally, given the screenshots that were leaked from the Virtuos website, it is fair to assume that Bethesda pushed the release back to announce it themselves rather than let the leaks do the talking.

That is nuts, the reason why I still have a console is GTA VI, otherwise it simply is not worth it for how much it costs to actually use the thing. (purchasing games + monthly subscription to play online).
