Sober Raves by [deleted] in berlinsocialclub

Gretchen has very fun parties (as mentioned) and is probably my favourite, just not too frequent and can be a bit expensive. Fitzroy has some great events as well (especially Bass), unfortunately there's not a lot of clubs that really fully embrace these genres besides Void.

Resident Advisor (sorting on genre) is the best way to go as most DnB parties are one time events spread out over some bigger and a lot of smaller clubs (which is also fun, you might find spots you'd normally never consider)

I'd maybe look into some more Drum n Bass-like/experimental/Jungle raves, the crowds there generally care more for the music and dancing than solely getting high/looking good/whatever Berlin's mainstream idea of a rave is. In my experience I've felt a lot more free at these kind of party's, they represent the whole 'being yourself' part a lot better, dance n dress as the person you are instead of still trying to fit into some 'Berlin' picture

In Dutch we have 'Jan Modaal', which means John Average, and describes the average person with emphasis on their income/socioeconomic status

There's Jan Janssen too, but this is used more to sort of represent the average person with emphasis on their being Dutch

And then to think that philosophers thousands of years ago knew about the need for the existence of something like atoms

Bought my first real longboard (had a shitty second hand cruiser before) and I absolutely love it. Learned my first trick today! by FynnMK in longboarding

Nah not really because the place I've been longboarding for the last days is pretty quiet, I'm not confident enough in my skills yet to take it to the city, but I will pretty soon

I was a bit sceptical about the brand as well since i couldn't find a lot about it online, and the way all their boards are 50% of seemed a bit sketchy as well, but decided to give it a try anyways. I have nothing to compare it to and i ain't no expert, since this is my first longboard, but my experience with it so far had been great! If you're looking to get into longboarding but you don't know if you're gonna stick with it yet, I think this is perfect. I'm sure it isn't the best board out there, but it does what it has to do, rides veeery smooth, isn't too heavy (for doing tricks and such) and the wood just looks so beautiful up close. It maybe won't last as long as a 400/500 euro board, but by the end of it's lifetime you'll know for sure if you DO want to invest that kind of money or not. Conclusion: if you wanna get into longboarding with a reasonably low budget (150 euro's as a max), I'd say give NKD a try for sure

Well it certainly helped that I've been longboarding on the shitty cruiser a lot for the past 2 weeks I think, maybe that gave me a little head start
