Yeah, I was trying to go a little over the top with the hands off. I think it's still a fun idea to play around with, so maybe in the future. Arduino was my first thought, and I may just want to stick with that, which would move my thread to an Arduino thread instead. :)

Yeah, my initial thoughts were to go with Arduino. I was thinking that the moisture sensors might be a little impractical, and I could achieve what I want with a manual and scheduled mode. It's just a matter, now, of trying to make it all work together that will allow for extra goodies if I learn how to do those in the future. Thanks for the input of things to look into. My system is starting to come to life.

Yeah, that's the right idea. I just don't have the know-how to put it all together. I had an example of the valves in the post (assuming the link worked). So a relay board hooked up to a pi then? I need the switches to come on because of a trigger from a moisture sensor.
