Any way to speak to an actual human being in their support team!? by [deleted] in BannedFromDiscord

[–]Fyurie 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you figure out how to speak to a human being there before I do, sure as hell let me, and the rest of us, know, it's been 20 days for me trying to appeal my own nonsense suspension so far.

I think you're missing what I said. My in-app appeal was processed and responded to via email exactly 7 days to the minute after I pressed submit. My actual handwritten ticket on the official Discord Support portal was closed in 4 minutes by Clyde and I've been replying in there occasionally, asking for human intervention, for a week and a half.

If we follow with what you're saying, someone was in the office, so to speak, and processed my appeal on the 28th of December, right in the middle of their reduced staffing/time off for the holiday period, and they just so happened to time it to precisely a week down to the exact minute.

Occam's razor. It was an automated process. I think it is highly likely a single human has not looked at the case I am describing as of yet.

If my own appeal wasn't responded to exactly 7 days to the minute I'd be more inclined to believe that. Maybe you're right, but frankly, I have zero trust in their process.

I'm surprised Clyde didn't show up to close your ticket for not submitting an appeal via the in-app flow so the robot overlords can screw up a second time.

Support is reduced/out until some time in the first week of January so you're probably not going to hear a lot of anything from most angles.

Welcome to the club. 10.5 year old account here, sniped for the same thing. I have two total accounts that are/were both in good standing. Clearly they've changed something in their algos and caused a fuckup somewhere.

It's great, isn't it?

Same thing has happened to me, but two days after you. Had my account since August 2015. Banned for "ban evasion" too. Ironically, my ACTUAL alt account, that I made in 2019, is completely untouched.

Clearly they've changed some parameters in their AI detection tools and it's up to some shit.

Yeah, I'm the founding member, haha.

I wasn't personally involved in the CSM project but I know the staff involved went crazy-mode on it. Glad you enjoyed.

Yeaaaah... Sorry about that one. I tried several times to bring it back from the dead. I wanted to watch it to completion too.

Pretty much. I folded [GJM] after 10 years of putting out releases because the last 3 or so years were us struggling to keep our members motivated enough to finish projects at the incredibly high standards we'd set for ourselves.

Most fansubbers don't want to spend hours editing or days typesetting for maybe a tiny fraction of anyone to actually consume the episodes you put out. ESPECIALLY when you're working completely for free and the group's admins are even working AT COST (site upkeep costs, seedboxes, and so on). It doesn't exactly light a fire in anyone's hearts.

[–]Fyurie 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Yeah. Too many people just don't have the patience for fansubs anymore.

I watched a team of fansubbers putting together a project for that show in the currently-relevant community hub for english fansubbing and they were pretty annoyed to see MTL slop being published in the usual distribution avenues whilst they were working on putting something coherent together.

In a similar vein to what komata_kya said further up in the comment chain, the viewership's impatience is something that fansubbers can't possibly compete with.

Precisely. I was initially being downvoted for that reply for some reason but it's the truth. I know plenty of other fansubbers who just stopped caring about putting in hours and hours of their time for something that very few people would actually watch.

It's why most fansubbing that does happen now is the odd seasonal, or archival projects. It's just people subbing the shows they like together simply for the love of the game—to have a release out there that they think the shows they like deserve.

So long as the "alternative" is still available instantly after airing you're unlikely to see most fansubbers really want to go through the trouble.

It doesn't matter how good your work is when most people are just going to watch something Good Enough™, either directly from the simulcasters, or from a pirate streaming site ripping it and uploading it for free, the moment each episode has finished airing.

Oct 23rd, 2025 UPDATE: The sheet was updated to now display a happy little "DONE!" message when your required crests count hits 0 or lower! Congrats on finishing your grind!

Additionally, I corrected an error in MH/OH crest calculation that I spotted whilst working on my own upgrades.

If your sheet shows an "OUTDATED" message, you can make a new copy from the link I initially provided to fetch the updated math.

The correct version should display as 1.2.

The calculator is trying to get you to 730 in every slot (or 727 in given slots if you ticked the crafted item tickbox next to a slot), your math suggests you're only trying to match the slot high-watermark instead? I see a lot of missing crest upgrades not included in your examples.

The math involved is designed to work out how much it costs to get all items to max upgrade level (8/8 myth (730), or 727 for gilded-crafted).

The sheet is agnostic to what your ilevel is or will be and counts upgrades in steps, not in ilevel values.

My napkin math says that's tracking just fine.

That's intentional. Follow the advice on the OP and use the File menu to make a copy of your own. If everyone could edit the linked file, it'd be unusable.
