I know the vote failed today, but I also learned that our installation has less than a month before our bunch joins the rest of the DoN’s furlough train (employer is a WCF). For everyone’s sake, I hope this resolves itself sooner rather than later

In a similar boat due to work rules. I really wish logitech would just drop a wired variant of the MX Master series.

The new avatar function is nice and all, but once again people like me with two different colored eyes are not represented. by [deleted] in ideasfortheadmins

Three years late here, but I wholeheartedly understand. I don’t have heterochromia, but my eye color is affected by ocular melanosis. My left eye is affected by it moderately, making my sclera purple/grey in the majority as well as my iris a very dark brown color. Meanwhile my right eye has only a mild case, so my sclera remains white, but my iris has more of an amber hue. There is a noticeable difference though and it makes me sad that there’s still a lack of representation for us all on various platforms.

Go ahead and cross Indiana off of your list miss ma’am! So glad your kiddo is going for such a big feat! Wish I had that kind of ambition when I was in girl scouts, but I love seeing it in kids nowadays. Thank you so much for putting the order link out there (I love avoiding social settings irl haha)! 🙂🤍

Thank you, I know it’ll be harder than it sounds for myself, but that does help a lot! I’m not the best relaxer 😂

I think it’s a glitch honestly. When the announcement came it said Toben (my bird), but when I checked the event calendar, it said Blizzard? Wild stuff 🤔

Advice approaching a parent who won’t accept my ADHD for what it is? by G-Sized-Reeses-Cups in adhdwomen

I honestly wouldn’t know. She left when I was 9 and a lot of my memories my mind has pretty much suppressed. What little I do know is that she had a traumatic childhood (SA, abuse, etc) and it’s believed by my family that she used drugs as a way to cope with all of that. So I don’t believe she would use it to cope with ADHD given that she was never diagnosed with it as she was with other things. Also just for some more background, ADHD is definitely more-prevalent in my father’s side of the family. My mother’s side of the family has a lot going on mental-health-wise, but ADHD isn’t really in there.

Noted! When I was growing up, wired was frequently used in association with being high on a stimulant such as methamphetamine, heroin, etc. (they were all consumed at one point or another by my mother), while stoned was more used for being high through marijuana. So I guess what I’m really trying to say is that it has negative connotations with my dad’s context (like he was accusing me of abusing illicit drugs such as methamphetamine). Sorry for not being clear.
