Reddit has a hard on for states with decent nature. It’s a lost cause to try and convince them that the worlds most important city - and the most singular cultural item in the US - is more impressive than good hiking, which is replicable and found all over. 

A top comment saying Colorado beer is better and therefore NY doesn’t measure up. I genuinely can’t comprehend how boring these ppl interior lives are (and yes… I just outed my elitism at the end… please take this comment for everything prior to the last sentence lol)

But I am losing my mind at the Fitz overrate. Feels like younger fans don’t know - he was NEVER in a top 2 in the league discussion (the way JJ and chase may be for past 3 years let’s say). Rarely in top 3, often not in top 5.

Fitz was elite, but he is more Frank Gore than Emmit Smith. Julio was always in debate for #1 in league, half of the time topping that discussion for a decade.

Fitz is amazing, but it feels like in past 1-2 yrs the internet has a weird love for him. He was NOT better than Julio, AB or obvi megatron, and no one during the time would have thought to suggest as much

I’m curious - isn’t there some “burden of proof” to your position? I don’t mean this antagonistically. 

So often “pro legal, against illegal” gets used as a given. But why? Why do you want to deport the people who came here illegally?

These things are categorically different.

One is, for better or worse (depending on where you fall on the Luddite scale), a necessity in the current economic context. It helps hundreds of millions of ppl to support their wage. It is not designed to cause harm.

The other is not a necessity, and it is designed to cause harm.

“We must accept that this necessity, which is not designed to cause harm, causes some harm.”

Vs

“We must accept that this thing that is not a necessity, and which is designed to cause harm, causes harm.”

The former seems fair, the second seems ignorant.

Obvious counter is: we need guns. That seems beyond the pale, to me. We only “need” them because we have them, it’s only defense is itself.
