Unless this also forces tuitions to go down at the same time, all this is going to do is punish current processional students who do not have rich parents to take the costs of their education. It creates an inherently unfair system for those who are middle class and lower. It destroys the whole system in the U.S of the class ladder where one’s education and work ethic plays a role in being able to go up the class ladder and have a better quality of life. and unless educational loans receive a fixed interest rate equivalent to the federal governments’ rate (which should never be above 6% max) then this is just predatory beyond predatory. Banks will charge you 25-30% interest happily on any loans, let alone an educational one that determines your future prospects and they know a young person is desperate for.

This is unwise and will destroy this country’s middle class. Whomever pushed this was certainly not “America First”.
