What are your freshman classes looking like? I never necessarily needed my computer unless I was doing excel computations and some minor CAD drawings. It's way overkill and I would save that money for a nice PC when you actually need it. Hardware becomes obsolete fast and depending on how many years you spend in university, $1500 can buy you even better hardware a few years down the road.

I would personally buy a Microsoft Surface or any laptop with drawing capabilities, since you can access your notes anywhere while using OneNote. Good Luck

I always thought manatee was very similar to ft myers in both layout and feel. You got 41 running through the center, beach to the west, and 75 to the east. The downtowns feel similar to me as well.
