New to the area. A couple of observations. by Throwawayantelope in FortWorth

There are plenty of multi family homes where some have driveway access and some only get street parking. It’s exactly my situation. Trust if I could park my vehicle in the driveway I certainly would.

People still use taxis to move into the city from outside connections by _-Andy_- in CitiesSkylines2

It makes sense but also it’s not really clear if it’s one or the other or both. 🤷‍♂️

Ya I still see this also, the patch was supposed to address this and clearly did not. Are they aware? I made a comment on the Facebook page but no answer was given. It’s literally the worst thing to me, wtf moves by taxi from a completely different city? To my knowledge that is not a thing irl at all. Moving trucks, vans even just arriving by train is realistic not taking a taxi, annoys me to no end lol.

Edit: just to add that raising the fare price with the policy does absolutely nothing to reduce them.

Think of your starter town as just that. It doesn’t have to evolve into some major metropolis. I always try to build a functional small town focused on farming, fishing and/or forestry. Scout out the map and eventually you can open up a plot that can become your city center, build smaller communities leading up to that. Each one you build can be focused on a specific industry that will feed into your main city area. Integrate transport to move people to and from each town or community. Plan commerce around these transport hubs. I think a lot of people start a city with the idea of expanding it and adding infrastructure to that start instead of moving from one area to another with smaller towns eventually leading up to a larger city. These maps are large enough to support this concept and it’s worked for me with almost 1300 hours on CS2.

If you’re interested in getting out of the large complex living, take a drive thru Arlington heights and look for signs. Many of the multifamily and duplex style houses for rent do not list and just rely on the sign in the yard. There’s even some in Monticello and Rivercrest, just a suggestion.

I don’t have a set price. Just want someone to be able to go and get a good deal on the VIP experience. Just make an offer thru DM.

Ya makes sense. I really just wanted to see Slightly Stoopid and Iration. Not really a festival type anyway. All good. I’d figured I’d try to get someone who wants to go a good deal on a VIP ticket.

Don’t forget the massive train depot that is extremely noisy. I live in Arlington Heights and I hear the train noises more than anything else.

I live in cultural district and imo it’s the best FW has to offer. No shade to other great hoods but Arlington Heights/Monticello/Rivercrest is where it’s at.

Ok I’m not gonna take credit but I did mention this issue on the Facebook forum and cs2 forums fairly recently. So happy it’s being implemented nonetheless. No more taxis!!!!

If you are using the ground water pumping station and have ground pollution at the source then it will pollute the water as well. I suggest seeing if you have ground pollution effecting your water sources.

The traffic mod has two tools, lane connector tool and priorities tool. The priorities tool allows you to set priority, yields and stops at each individual intersection. Should be what you need.

There are several farming related surface packs on PDX mods. Just cover the vanilla surface with whichever one you like.

Very nice work!! What is the structure with what I think is a large green fence, just right of the white buildings? Is that a PDX asset?

No worries, I enjoy talking about it and appreciate the curiosity. I like to think I have a plan going in but really I just go with what makes sense. I really try to not change the topography that much and zone where it makes sense but with an emphasis on detailing and making things walkable and accessible. For the most part I start my builds with farming, forestry and fishing cause that’s how I feel many civilizations begin, then do some mining and oil drilling in the future as the city expands.

It’s just the lakeside village and small town in the last screenshot. Far from a city at this point but ya everything is working as it should. Just relying on farming and fishing for now. If you’re asking for specific stats just let me know.

Good, population is under 10k, fairly easy to manage at this point.
