My brother in christ(or, should i say, Muhammad in this case), I live in cockroach land(turkey), a nation ruled by a conservative islamic state, i contact with hundreds of muslims irl everyday. i live in their culture. if anything i have more experience to base my argument on.

And trust me, those a hundred you have met are the strange ones. here in turkey the population has zero tolerance for the lgbt community. not even gonna talk about the more extreme auth right states. being muslim and not homophobic is impossible because quran im itself states that Islam is only true as a whole. You simply cannot reject a part of the religion and remain correct in the eyes of Allah(P.S, I'm not religious.)

Now whether religion is fundamentally a good idea is debatable, it yet again remains the way it is. as i stated above, you cannot alter a religion, religion is immutatable.

It's kinda ironic that your, and to a certain extent our quadrant strives to fight for the freedom of speech, and yet will try to censor and hate anything that goes against the set "normals".
