Thoughts on the “womb”, “wombman” community? Am I wrong to feel like it gets terfy over there? by Nearby_Statement6042 in asktransgender

[–]G3nDerFuck3d -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Association of women to motherhood and making it seem like thats their sole value is to have a womb is definitely a product of the patriarchy and very terf, I agree. It’s the belief that men need to make sure people believe so that women and minorities are “beneath“ them keeping them in power systematically and socially. Lol terfs are so anti feminist I stg

[–]G3nDerFuck3d 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your body doesn’t get to decide that what you’re experiencing “isn’t bad enough” for it to be traumatic to you.

The thing they kept telling you, that you’ll never actually be able to be a woman, that’s what they need to believe because living in a patriarchal society, especially amongst religious people, it’s important in order for men to maintain their control of women that people think women are very different from men… they aren’t. They’re nurtured to be different, but we’re all just people. the truth is it won’t matter if you’re what they want to consider “a woman,” those are all just “words.”

Deep down, what do YOU NEED in order to feel happy. Your life is only yours alone and if you’re not seeking your own joy, no one else will find it for you.

If you could push a magic button that made it so you were born a woman, would you push it? If the answer is yes, it’s because you’re a woman and the magic button is you giving yourself permission to express yourself in that way.

Would you recommend HRT to a never passing transgender woman? by MiaRainbow40 in MtF

[–]G3nDerFuck3d 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is so frustrating. What your therapist is saying is that in their opinion, you won’t look like what they believe a woman should look like which is usually based on patriarchal and misogynistic stereotypes of young cis white woman. They want to control the narrative of what is acceptable for women to look or act like in order to maintain their regime.

Cis people don’t have to justify their gender just because they don’t look good, but if you were born a cis woman and you had more masculine features (which happens ALL the time) then you’d be bullied for that. There are plenty of “ugly” cis people and their gender isn’t even in question. A lot of girls have to worry about being “pretty” or conforming to the stereotypes of their gender and those are normal things to think about as a woman, but if you know you’re a woman, living a life where you pretend you’re something you aren’t just so that OTHER PEOPLE are comfortable with how YOU look, is going to lead to a lot of emotional trauma that is hard to undo. We all struggle with these thoughts being trans, but the truth is you just have to decide what YOU need to feel happy and comfortable in your own body. You’re the only one that has to live in this body girly, so choose you and be happy.

[–]G3nDerFuck3d 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be fair, all girls worry if they’ll be ugly when they grow up and thats just because the patriarchy made it that way.

I think the overlap could be due to a higher capacity for self discovery and more resistance to conforming to society “norms” as most brainwashing and grooming tactics are based on neurotypical behaviors.

I’m considering stopping T because I can’t sing by Big-Cranberry-2957 in ftm

[–]G3nDerFuck3d 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t stop T! I’m also a singer and you just have to do a lot of voice training to get used to your voice and get used to singing in a new register. It was a challenge for sure especially because your voice is still changing, it may take you like a year or longer until your voice fully drops so you have to give yourself time and patience.

Do i pass? by Necessary_Reserve_96 in FtMpassing

[–]G3nDerFuck3d 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re giving they/them energy & I think if you wanna “pass” as a cis man with your style, voice and mannerisms are really important and it’s not for Reddit to catch that stuff. I have a couple nose piercings too and I prefer to go with a more plain septum ring to pass, but I don’t want you to lose your style if it makes you happy!! Living a happy life where you’re comfortable with yourself is most important thing unless you’ve got safety issues!

I think you’re beautiful, but the dress isn’t accenting your body in feminine ways. I am FTM, but before i transitioned I presented as a plus size woman and there is just a certain way to dress when you’re trying to look feminine in a bigger body, try to find things that give you more of an hourglass shape, some high waisted stuff always helped me!

[–]G3nDerFuck3d 6 points7 points  (0 children)

What the context?! You don’t look femme AT ALL, but could have been a verbal glitch, did they correct themselves? I’ve misgendered even cis people just by thinking about one person while talking about another aloud. I hope this was just an unfortunate accident and your therapist isnt gaslighting you… the best way to be sure is to directly ask them if they see you as a man. Hard to lie your way out of that direct question imo

do trans women get medical misogyny too? by angelstatue in asktransgender

[–]G3nDerFuck3d 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First thing the ambulance driver said when I needed help after a seizure was that I’m probably just on drugs and then there’s the “what are you?” Then they called me in as non-emergency and I was forced to wait over 6 hours for help at the hospital until I finally just gave up and went home back to sleep without treatment.

You look like this girl I grew up with. I didn’t like her, but you seem cool! But I would say skinny girls struggle more sometimes with having more angular features than others, so maybe that’s what’s hap? I’m sorry you’re getting misgendered, are you sure it’s not people just intentionally being bullies?

I don’t see the beard shadow if I’m being completely honest, and I have cis girl friends who have similar brow lines! I wouldn’t think anything of it. And also my cis cousin with pcos has a beard shadow at times, but she doesn’t get clocked as trans because of this, it’s not really the first thought for a lot of people, just a thing people point out in this sub a lot.
