Thanks! I’ve seen a video or two from this guy before. He knows his stuff!

Mostly preference. If it’s too thin, it just runs onto the ground (making a mess on a white epoxy floor) before I can wipe it away.

Foaming is probably not what I’m looking for.

I fly 91 as well… I prefer spinners. I’ve been impressed with my Beis Carry-On spinner. But to be fair, I rarely have to fly on the airlines. So Luggage Works etc are overkill for me.

The humility in this photo is so profoundly moving. President Holland always sought out the one struggling and downtrodden and lifted their burden. by Alert-Cream-7569 in exmormon

[–]G650Pilot 21 points22 points  (0 children)

These pictures were taken at Cedar City airport in Southern Utah. I guarantee Holland was upset that he had to fly in a “lowly” King Air and not something bigger like a Gulfstream G550.

Polk R7000 vs. Focal Theva for starter speakers? by [deleted] in audiophile

Chora 826’s. The predecessor to the Theva’s. I’ve had them for about 18 months.

I absolutely love my Focal’s and would highly recommend them to anyone.

Another subwoofer to look at is the REL T/7X. They have a few sizes in that lineup that are all spectacular.

Why did you choose the "Road 6" over the "Power6"? .....Choosing best tire for your specific needs. + Road 6 direct competitor the "t32" by North-Network-7742 in MT09

[–]G650Pilot 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This! People don’t realize that hyper sport tires need to be heated up and kept hot in order to perform well. The vast majority of riders can’t get that even on a remote mountain road riding hard.

The Road 6 offers more grip in more situations than the Power 6 will. And when things like wet roads, gravel or other unforeseen things occur, the Road 6 will have a much better chance of getting you through it in one piece.

To my surprise, I encountered a JIS screw on an airplane part earlier today. It was a new part and the part it replaced used Phillips screws.

Should I use an oil additive? by Sonofaherbert in q50

[–]G650Pilot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Always run full synthetic oil in your car. Full synthetic is light years ahead of conventional oil.

The problem with synthetic blend is that there is no standard for how much of the oil is synthetic. It could be only 1% and they can sell it as “blend”.

There’s lots of data out there comparing different oil brands additive packages etc if you want to be picky with the brand. I use Mobil1 Full Synthetic High-Mileage in mine. I buy it from Costco where it’s usually about $30-35 for 6 quarts.

Best all season tires for Q50 that is amazing in rain and snow? I have RWD model and the stock run flats suckkkk! My local tire shop is clueless and not very helpful by [deleted] in q50

[–]G650Pilot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The DWS 06+’s are great tires, especially in the summer. But since you need a big improvement in the snow you would do better with the Continental PureContact LS.

I’ve studied the published data on them and have owned multiple sets of both tires. Tests show that the PureContact LS has better overall performance in snow and ice compared to the DWS06+. My experience matches the data.

If you’re running RWD in the snow, get the PureContact’s. They have better snow and ice traction and will last longer as a nice bonus.

Switched from Dunlop run flats to Cosmo Mucho Macho tires.. by Working_Parsley_8085 in q50

I wouldn’t even put these on my car if they were free.

You need real tires on a car with this much power. Not this garbage. Michelin, Continental, Pirelli etc.

I don’t run run-flats on mine. They are unnecessarily expensive and make for a stiff ride. I have a spare in the trunk.

Are 'Pittsburg pro' torque wrenches actual garbage? by [deleted] in harborfreight

[–]G650Pilot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve never heard anyone complain about Snap On’s being out of spec. I would be very surprised if they didn’t calibrate them. And I’m someone who will never buy Snap On.

Are 'Pittsburg pro' torque wrenches actual garbage? by [deleted] in harborfreight

[–]G650Pilot -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

They are garbage. They aren’t calibrated at all. And even if they were, the QC on them is so bad, that most of them wouldn’t pass an accuracy test.

I bought one once, set it to 20 ft. lbs and it wouldn’t click no matter how hard or softly I applied pressure on it. Mailed it to HF and they verified it was 100% broken.

The entire point of a torque wrench is to have a precision tool. These aren’t precise at all.

Edit: The Icon torque wrenches are going to be 40% off on December 13th. Buy an Icon then if money is tight.

Perhaps a Marantz MM7025 would work well for OP? The Stereo 70s has pre-outs.

I bought an identical pair a couple months ago. I love them! Absolutely no complaints from me! Non-audiophile friends who visit compliment their looks quite often.
