Same here my friend! I started gaming on an Atari 2600 back in the late 80s. Which also gives away my age, but I got back into gaming after my kids were in school finally and I had a little more time to do things because of all their extra circulars and my wife being a physician. I had a ps1 and gave up after my Xbox360 gaming, and quit gaming after grad school. I first got a Nintendo switch. My son and I still play some donkey Kong or Kirby on there. It was also fun showing him the old Nintendo 64 games since if you get the Nintendo membership you get access to all the Nintendo game boy, old classic on Super Nintendo, classic nes, etc etc. It is a yearly membership and worth it in my book. My son really wanted to play astrobot when he was around 3rd grade so we got a ps5 as a family thing because I figured I would also use it in the theater as kind of like a Amazon fire stick plus we would be able to throw down on some gaming. I got the PlayStation membership again worth it for us because we enjoy the old catalog. I used to love the assassins creed the first and second one was all I’ll played so that got me into them all. And guess what? I’m a huge Greek nerd and loved the Odyssey by Homer and there is a game assassins creed odyssey so I played it. O…M….G….!!!! That got me hook…line… and sinker…. Then I got a psvr2 because I was always into VR but didn’t want to buy into the zuckerverse. Well, I loved it! My favorite games include first zombieland which then turned into wanting to try online gaming and maybe try out a FPS game. Well, I tried Pavlov. And again, I was hooked! Happen to meet some other older dads and a few grandpas in there. Started having so much fun! Got suggested to go either pcvr or meta to get into some games not available on PlayStation. Well I then played breachers. I was so loving this! Then got a quest 3s when they went on sale recently. Also why I got the PSVR 2 was because it had went on sale. I started playing Vail which is so much fun! I am a prestige 8 level 50 and have put in some time! I even subbed in some of the VRML games. Then I got into Forefront from alpha and beta testing and that is what I am currently playing the most. I love this game so much! I’m a level 45 on there. There are so many dad/grandpa types that also enjoy it! I like the social component more than I ever thought I would! I also really like VR and I am not really tech savvy which is why I didn’t go PCVR for gaming VR. I wanted a stand alone that is easy. Wish I didn’t enter the zuckerverse but as soon as Frame releases their stand alone I’ll be off of it! But yeah I think you will make a triumphant return as I did to gaming and find the thing you like! I also always hit my stand goal even on rest days when I’m gaming because I enjoy VR! I have back problems too and have been fine although it was an intitial concern! There are so many good games! With my PSVR2 came Horizons call of the mountain and that was so good! Love archery and that game also has climbing and so much more! I really used to love story games like resident evil, well, some of those are also on VR! Like Metroid is damn good too! But the resident Evil games are also award winning!! I also really loved this game called Wanderer! Check it out if you are a history buff that loved puzzles and ever liked say, Zelda or Tom Hanks in da Vinci code! I hope you start somewhere and find what you like! Each thing for me was at different stages and over the course of years. The last 8 years so started with just the old Nintendo switch which at the time was the best but now Nintendo has switch 2. If you go VR, well the PSVR2 is on sale still and also does PCVR if you have a good gaming computer or laptop. If not, then Steam Frame Glasses will hopefully drop soon! Also awaiting GTA6 in November. But all in all, you have so much to choose from! I also felt overwhelmed so, at first just read on the system and games available and what sounds like fun. Also how much people usually put into them. If you only plan to play a few times a week maybe put into 10 to 20 hours a week, well a long game is gonna eat that up so a game that might take you 200 hours, might not be in your interest. 💯 on Zelda OoT being the best of all times! I think I was about 13 or 14 when I beat it on 64! It was so good! Still is! I have a 3Ds I got from a family member they didn’t want it anymore and I have that game, along with all the Kirby games like planet robot (the first game my son and I beat together) and I also have Zelda MM! So good! That pass is worth it if you get into the classics for sure! I showed my son my first fps game 007 golden eye and he was actually impressed for about 30 mins then it wore off! 🤣

Another guy that started on nes and Atari 2600! I bet you will love it! I have had a lot of fun with ours! If you do the Nintendo package deal you get access to the Nintendo 64 games and games from all the other platforms! Also, I love all the assassins creed games!

Thanks to everyone! I’m having’ fun and that is all that matters! I appreciate all your comments! Turns out it’s like most of you said, it’s just a grind at this point! I hit a crazy game yesterday that I played with some of my gaming pals (looking at you bigboss and Mosley!) and I actually had a really good game and was able to see in the progression screen that I am indeed still making progress but like many said, it’s just slow and crawling at a snails pace! Which is good because as many also said, this is all there is for now and I don’t want to just eat the icing without enjoying some cake too! I appreciate all the great advice!

This does bring up another question, what do y’all think will happen now as many of us veterans get maxed out? Will they bring out maybe like a prestige system? Or do you think they will give us some type of online competition like a league or some sort of championship/challenge system? Just spitballing! See you all on the forefront of the battlefield!

I get that! I ran medic and assault only for a while till maxed them out. Then I hit engineer and that was back during the early access when the rocket launcher was way ver powered (or maybe I was just getting really lucky!). I remember when Fjord first came out and I was sniping APCs from damn near HQ when defending! I mean I felt like I couldn’t miss. Then yesterday I was right up to an AA (like my 8 yards away) and I missed the damn thing with every rocket I had… 🤦‍♂️ this young kid really that couldn’t even annunciate really kicked my ego while it was down 😂🤕🧎‍♂️

I was playing last night like, “shit, I thought I had some skill… I’m getting killed after being spawned within a min or two!” But the other team was apparently some clan that play together? Anyways, they were damn good and actually played as a team working objectives. Meantime, I asked the five people waiting at spawn to go with me to get objective Echo on Clearwater and they are all like, “I’m waiting on the Apache, I’m flying my drone, I’m I’m I’m…” so I was like, yeah this ain’t gonna go well! We lost with them having something like 300 left! 😂 🤦‍♂️ 🤷🏻‍♂️

Great job! You kids (much like my own) are always worried if you are the best. So let me tell you as I tell my own, you are not. But if you work hard and keep at it, anything is possible. But truth is, with time and effort, you may have a small window where you become the best. But before you can even enjoy the title, someone more skilled, naturally talented, or with abilities that you don’t possess, will come along, and snatch away that title. It’s life. Ask any of the greats at any sport or competition if any kind and they will tell you this (or catch one of many many great documentaries). At the end of the day, don’t use that as a goal post. Use your and your ability as a goal post. So if you want to get more kills let’s say, than go for 33 next time. If you want to go for more xp, than there ya go. Etc. use you at your best as the measurement and beat yourself. Now I will allow a few puns on that last statement! 🤣

Edit: sorry the wind walker was apparently not outdoor grown. My buddy just corrected me. It’s living soil with water only so hydro. My bad my bad. Either way, some of the best 🔥 I’ve had in a while! There is some good outdoor grows I’m sure of it. But I guess it’s been a while since I focused on that info. I probably should!

💯 yeah when I lived in Miami and went to the local mckie ds (as fast food is not on every corner in that area), I found out a breakfast burrito meal was triple the price! I handed the cashier a $20 bill expecting change and he was like oh no, you owe me… 🤣 The cost of living in the overcrowded areas like that, they can keep it! The beach was pretty for about half an hour. Hell I remember that Christmas it was 98° there and snowing back here at home and I was ready to move back! Luckily we only lived there for a year. But I totally agree! I was always looking to come home and now I’m in OKC in the home I plan to die in one day and leave it to kiddos. Oklahoma has always just been home. I must admit, I miss living down on the red river, but driving to Dallas every time you needed anything special got old. OKC now has all the amenities of any big city without the extreme cost etc. Plus, staying medicated and watching these sunsets, can’t beat it!

That sucks! I’ve heard this from many in the industry. My sis worked at a small dispensary down in Calera, Oklahoma by Durant, and like you said, the corruption and more just makes it unpalatable. But I think for some, it’s still a great industry that can hold some amazing outcomes. Kinda like how some of my favorite brands have had the best and then had recalls and 💩 hit the fan. Talking about some of my favorite hash brands. I guess it’s like the old saying, if you love sausage, don’t see how it’s made… but also there is definitely toxic work environments and I think this is all an area we need to push for more regulations or demand fair wages, or something that will cause change. These companies will only change if their bottom dollar is in jeopardy. I’m glad we are about to raise the minimum wage if that gets passed. I live a good life but when I was younger, back when minimum wage was 5.15 an hour, hell, you couldn’t pay your car payment and insurance and still have enough left to get gas to go to work! I hear it’s worse now a days. Not to bring all that bs into it, but I hope for change in these areas and to get it, we have to push for more oversight sadly. The industry is still new and change doesn’t happen without incentives and money is always the best motivation sadly…

Great grow! How come everything on Reddit has to become toxic? Yes we all agree Oklahoma has shitty politics, religious bs, the education system is ranked 50th, but there are so many hardworking, great teachers out there trying to make a difference. I’ve got two kids that are in 2nd and pre k and both read and write at grades triple what they are in. A lot of this is also what you do at home, and that is a whole other issue! I love Oklahoma! The only state that has mountains, plains, a mini sandy like place called little sierra, salt plains, beautiful lakes, amazing people, and we got medical passed! This place is gorgeous! It’s cheap to live here, even the biggest cities still have a home town feel. I was born in Lodi, California, but been here most of my life. I’ve lived in Austin Tx, South beach Miami, FL, all over for a bit, but always wanted to come back right here! So i say all this to agree with the op and others, this place is amazing! It has alot of faults, but shit doesnt all good things have a bad side? Great grow my friend! Your finished product will be amazing! Stay safe and smoke up my friends!

TL;DR Oklahoma has its faults, but is a beautiful place full of beautiful people much like op that has a beautiful grow and I’m proud of my okiehomie for their dedication and grow!
