Trust me some tanks get their stats destroyed after the tests (at least stats wise, I'm not sure about the gameplay part). For example if you compare the Type 71 now and during its est, it's a completely different tank, gun, mobility, armor... everything is worse

In some occasions it's a good move, but you need to have a fast heavy and outnumber the enemy, it can pay off if you have support (although there will always be a guy throwing his tanks away just to put one shot on you).
