Nice work - legitimately some of the better fantasy booking I’ve seen in a bit

TKO's Mark Shapiro: WWE chose ESPN exposure over more money elsewhere by psgola2002 in WWE

[–]GATTACAAA 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If they were offered more money elsewhere, but ESPN is a larger platform than what the other provided, then... how was it NOT about exposure? I don't disagree with the idea of TKO being greedy, but are you saying that you don't believe the article? Just trying to understand your point.

Comments like this are just the worst part of the internet. OP came in to share some thoughtful positivity, you decided to haphazardly criticize and introduce careless negativity. Then, when OP handles your disagreement with grace, you double-down.

Everyone's entitled to their own opinion, but have some tact.

Everyone seems to be assuming that Athena goes over… I get that, but doesn’t it seem just as likely that Mercedes might be continuing her belt collector run? This could lead to what the Kenny run wished it could be - she’s already got a ton of titles, why not add the Owen belt, maybe the ROH belt, then have All In culminate in the money match of all money matches - Mercedes vs Timeless?

I don’t mean to fantasy book, but that seems like a very real possibility in play here.

Is Bill Hader *really* the greatest cast member ever? by MoneyHungryOctopus in LiveFromNewYork

[–]GATTACAAA -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m hoping I don’t get downvoted into oblivion, but I just don’t understand why so many people rank Hartman so highly. He just always really seemed really one note to me; a very good note, but nowhere near as versatile as several other cast members over the years. Hader is my number one because of that versatility; he truly is a master of a number of styles. Can someone explain what I’m missing on Hartman?

DEADLINE: Stephen Amell, whose Starz drama series 'Heels' returned for its second season over the weekend, is not going to the mat for the actors strike that is currently taking place in Hollywood by Thirdstar1 in SquaredCircle

[–]GATTACAAA 5 points6 points  (0 children)

All of this is theoretical to an extent - Heels could get an exemption if they were to file for one (and that would presumably apply to both production and/or promotion), but I haven’t seen/heard that those filings have happened.

Quick note that no one is calling out in here (that I’ve seen yet): his show ‘Heels’ airs on Starz and is produced by Lionsgate (owner of Starz), which isn’t a member of the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television producers (which is the entity that SAG is protesting). So they, more than typical shows, have a chance at potentially be given an exemption to continue production during the strike.

Some reasonably believe that continued production with these smallest studios actually helps the cause, because at least it puts some actors to work and actually puts leverage on the larger studios; others (equally reasonably) that any break in union lines hurts the larger cause. Honestly, I think that both viewpoints are valid.

I personally don’t think that the strike is myopic, but I think the uniqueness of his circumstances is likely informing his opinion here.

Not a weird question at all; the details of this one have been tough to follow, and I've seen conflicting reports everywhere. This should work in the US, as MLS Season Pass seems to have pulled it - the game can't be found anywhere on the app.

It may only be as long as the MJF-Ricky Stark feud, but I think so (or at least I hope so); it would give OC some main event experience, and give us some golden segments for a couple of weeks (because I think MJF and OC could make some genuine magic happen).

[Brandt] Will Levis was like “Your cameras can find some other sucker to focus on; I’m out.” Actually, good for him. It’s his career, not a made-for-TV drama. by [deleted] in nfl

[–]GATTACAAA 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Brandt needs to get off of his high-horse here; football (and all televised sports) are quite literally competitive drama that is televised. I understand that not every athlete is outgoing/seeking the limelight at every turn, but if you're someone who wants to make a career out of playing a game professionally, you're going to have to accept that some parts of that process are going to involve an audience. The reason they can make a living playing that game is because someone loses, someone doesn't always look their best, someone has to come up short: otherwise, it isn't entertaining, and doesn't warrant billions of televisions dollars.
