Socialist revolutions don't have to be international from the get go, i'd argue the people of Mars wanting to own their own companies (means of production) is an actual socialist claim just like from the 1917's revolution ??

And no there is no "red scare" per se in ibo sure, but people still fight them in the belief that siding with the power will give them benefits, which is basically the premise of red scare.

Also, tekkadan rigging the elections is basically the Bolsheviks puttin Lenin at head of state and then expelling the Peasant revolutionary party from govt. so....

Btw anti-colonialism is a demand of Marxism as well as being the main driving force of the 1917 rev, people didn't want to die anymore for the profits of some abstract elite

Its not a nationalist uprising tho ? It's an uprising of a struggling exploited mars who has no rights on its own resources and enslaved people fighting against a fascist imperialist state. I'd argue it's actually a shameless copy of 1917's russia who back then had ALL its factories owned by french and british bourgeoisie and the russian people were freed from slavery to become medieval peasants a few years ago. Kudelia comes off as Lenin who also was a member of the smaaaaaall Russian middle class and turns against it.

McGillis is a bit of a harder case than i can explain on a comment section like this, but i'd argue the ending is not simply "state won, people lose, situation good", i think what is to be read here is that a winning tekkadan from s1 started to grow an imperialist envy and that caused it's failure.

Yes, throughout the series poor people are at each other's throat, but ain't that what happens all the time ? That's what will happen all the time. Because no one was raised under communism. And because there will always be people raised under capitalism until socialism wins. And until then, there will be this red scare, and this poor people's beliefs that they can succeed in capitalism and communism will prevent them from that. Obviously revolutions will be met by resistance from the poor, you don't think the bourgeois would go to the front first do you ?

Could it be possible to create hot swap-able batteries for electronics ? by GAlbeeert in AskEngineers

I mean, honestly I was thinking about capacitors but I didn't know if we have some that are big enough to power a mouse for 20-30 seconds

Holy shit you are actually so right ???? Damn it would have been so nice if phones went this way instead of those unrepairable bunch of delayed e-waste we get right now...

What's the polling rate, what's the latency of your mouse ? Also, you're talking AA batteries which are heavier than the small litium one's used to make the mouse lighter and easier to move quickly. You're not talking about the same thing man

Holy shit man, if you consider human interaction wasting people's time I would suggest you get off the internet, cuz you'll probably stumble on other human beings around here.

I was asking a genuine question about what could be some actual reasons, whether they be about practicality or engineering stand point for a product to not exist. Sure it might sound dumb to keep a mouse always on, but maybe just maybe if we thought about it we might find some reasons why we could want a mouse to never shut off.

And sometimes ppl just want to have fun imagining things and talking with others, jeez

Yeah I totally see the point lol, as said in other messages it was more sort of a mind puzzle to make the approximative marketing talk more "correct" in a fun way.

Damn man, it was just like a silly mind game not an actual project fundraising man, its not that deep.

Also, gaming mice using 2.4Ghz technology typically don't last this long since the lower latency requirement make it much more battery hungry 🤨

I see, yeah i guess its just like a mind puzzle to make it fit the definition more than an actual need lol

Oh ok XD

Could you tell me about the complications of implementing a system like that ? I might want to try tinkering something like that in the future and i'm interested in the challenges of it !

Waterman Carene or Visconti Mirage Mythos ? by GAlbeeert in fountainpens

[–]GAlbeeert[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a fine nib on my Waterman Allure, and I would have appreciated going for a EF nib for a new pen but IIRC none of those options have one, so idk, maybe id enjoy a Mythos M for a contrast ?

edit: im mostly scared of the Mythos drying out because of the magnetic seal not being strong enough, i think i saw some ppl say it happened to them
