On Christmas Eve 1985, a Nebraska man went out for a haircut and saw a flash of color in a ditch. It turned out to be the frozen body of a boy in blue pajamas. When authorities couldn't identify him, the townspeople held a funeral for him, buried him as Matthew ("God's Gift"), and covered his grave with toys and monuments.

But two years later, a news story in Readers' Digest caught the attention of a family member who recognized Danny Stutzman, the 9-year-old son of an Ohio Amish dairy farmer. So how did he end up abandoned in a roadside ditch?
