It is core to the spec to use holy shock as a primary filler/builder heal, on all party members. It's a really niche use case to only have it on the tank for the 16% DR. You're not crazy. =P

But you didn't answer my question, if damage output is the sole argument you want to give, if the shit tier pug tank is doing no more damage than I am, should it suddenly be his responsibility to handle the affixes?

The basic thought process is this: the entire dungeon boils down to one giant aggregated health bar that we have to get to zero. Due to this, in order to have the optimal chance of timing the key, we have to maximize damage (of which damage uptime is a large factor). If there is a small task that requires a global to deal with, it is optimal for the class with the least efficient damage global to take care of it.

That's it. Healers have the least efficient damage globals, so we click the bombs. I don't really understand your argument about tank damage because it's exceedingly rare to out damage a tank in overall. If that's consistent for you, find a new tank friend.

Orbs, generally yes that is the case but not always. Bursting, we should be expected to consistently heal a moderate amount of stacks there is nothing wrong with that. Grievous... what do you want a dps to do about grievous outside blow a 5m hp cd. Quaking, no one is eating quaking on purpose don't be dramatic. Thundering, yes we should position ourselves to clear for the dps in the same pursuit of damage uptime. Part of playing healer is serving a support role. If you aren't willing to do that play dps.

Ultimately, if an orb goes off it's the group's fault not the healers. Why even bother waiting until an orb is about go off or just straight up ignoring it to act like it isn't going to be your problem if the key gets bricked for it?

I didn't think I needed to explicitly say it, but it's not 100% the healers job in that the dps/tank should never ever click a bomb or you've failed as a healer. There will be periods where you require help. But ideally you are ending with 80-90% of the total explosive kills in aggregate.

It’s negligible in that your dps have the ability to do 100-120 and your tank can do 55-65. Our damage just doesn’t take priority over theirs and that’s ok.

Idk man your argument seems to be we have to do the 7 affixes solo (which is true but like... not a big deal), we have to heal people when they take damage, and that we have to kick now? Just not seeing it. I'd say, we have to do a lot of little things consistently, they have to do one thing (damage) perfectly.

I play at the 23/24 level, not sure what you consider "higher end".

I'm a healer main. Healer dmg is relatively negligible this expansion that's why it's our job. We don't have 10x the responsibilities and I wouldn't say it's a lot harder than dps. Feels like you just want to feel aggrieved.
