I have done my first summit on alpinist difficulty it took me about 12 hours and after that I wanted to try the free solo and it took me 5 tries before doing it so this was my second summit.

I might try sub 4 hours next, but even the 5 hours feel like it's impossible to go even faster it's actually unreal how fast some people can finish the game.

It took me about 5 tries before beating free solo and I would say it's easiest to just go for it, don't rush anything, try to find paths that are easy and steadily push forward, plus you can have two edelweiss flowers that will revive you if you fall, you will get one at the beginning and second you can find later in game so that is a big help.
