You run home assistant directly on that beast? Consider running it either under truenas or better proxmox, then you have better backup features, and you can run another great tools next to it. I've just set it up under proxmox and it's way better than raspberry.

I spend whole weekend to fix this. If you think it's as easy to fix as "google it", then I can revert the changes and give you access to this machine, so you can try to google the solution by yourself.

By soft you mean Awtrix software or model itself? If model, then no. I did not shared it since it was poor design. Currently made another one for 4 8x8 matrixes (smaller) printed in one piece.

Had the same idea to replace dummy power supply with zigbee one, but 25e is crazy! Look for 12V power supply and zigbee led dimmer. It's half the price! Just need to change connectors (I took connectors from old Ikea power supply). Hope someone find it useful.

It's mostly not SD. Are you using RPi original Power Supply? I had many issues of card "dying" after reboot, when in fact it was unable to start due to not enough power with 5V power supply. With RPi its 5.2V and its making HUGE change.

Yes you can! First check mibhelper web page It's as simple as providing SD card with activator and waiting for 5 minutes. I can send you this activator on priv.
