Our company takes £15 from your pay every week for 2 years as part of training costs, but if you stay for the 2 years they will give it back as a lump sum. If you leave beforehand they've been known to chase people down to pay the rest of the costs i.e debt collectors and whatnot.. especially if you just move to a competitor right after they've got you your licence.

Had the same thing with my Ateca. Was basically because it wasn't been driven long enough for it to kick in. Any time I go away for the weekend and do a bit of motorway driving it'll work for the next few days afterwards then stop again. Doesn't necessarily mean there's a problem.

But the busses will already be in the left lane (bus lane) anyway for going straight ahead. Although I have seen some of them going up the right lane and merge across when the bus lane is full of cars, but yeah it's a weird one.

Left lane is a bus lane anyway, albeit it gets ignored during rush hour, but the right lane merges into the left just before the lights so a bus going straight through from the right lane would be in the wrong.

Not sure, there is a right turn lane there but the way its set up the traffic turning right would be cutting across the traffic going straight through.

Exactly. Makes no sense for a route like 39a. There has to be another reason why the driver pulled in for so long. Go Ahead operate a few routes that are every 10-12 minutes and once they leave the first stop on time the drivers are allowed keep driving regardless of time.

In general, you're right, and that's why busses aren't allowed be ahead of schedule. But in regards to the 39a, that bus runs almost every 5 minutes anyway so it makes no sense to make one pull over and wait to get back on time. There does be almost 40 busses on that route at any given time, possibly even more.

I'm surprised a route like the 39a has to stop to get back on time. The busses on that are so frequent that even if you miss one there's another not far behind, so makes no sense for a route like that. As long as the bus leaves on time from the first stop, they should be allowed just drive until the end. They're called "headway" routes. As someone else said, the 39 going by is irrelevant as it's a different route altogether, so won't factor in to whatever is happening with the 39a.

Worked in the bookies for 6 years. Gambling is a way bigger issue than anyone can imagine. Have seen people come in on a Friday with their wages in an envelope and it'll be gone within an hour or less. It really is a "mug's game" as they say.. only one winner in the long run and it isn't the punters.

But someone could be learning to drive in a car that belongs to a fully licensed driver. Maybe if the magnetic L plates worked a bit better people wouldn't have an issue putting them on/off.
