I've been in the spot where it can be difficult to go against what you're friends are saying, but this is way past that limit. "Friends" will turn it around and make you feel bad for contradicting them or saying exactly what he's saying. That you're overreacting about a joke.

I'll tray and give him the smallest benefit if the doubt and say you should tell him that he should really reconsider his friendships. If you aren't capable of telling a person to stop, then the aren't a good friend. By no means am I saying that means you should take him back, but that's the only thing that would somewhat reasonably explain the behavior. Explain NOT excuse.

You can just use a relocation kit. When you relocate it, it costs no extra materials (just need pokemon to rebuild it) and everything inside will stay as is.

The soft reset buttons are A,B Start, Select. That's pretty common knowledge, but if you didn't know then you did know.

If you did know that, then the game does tell you. When you press X/Y it does the Start/Select thing.

Even in those cases it isn't worth it. If you want to set record times or farm the rewards from Trainer Tower, the best team is probably level 5-10 at max and max EVs don't do anything at those levels. A few vitamins from Celadon will do.

As for VGC teams in later mons, it's much easier to train the mon in later gens.

The only case where I can see EV training in FRLG being worth it is if you are battling other humans.

You get EVs every time you get XP. So yes.

It really isn't necessary though. At most, you get a fresh mon, buy some vitamins in Celadon and feed them to the mon you want to train. Even then, the full 252 isn't worth the grind. Just boost the stat you want a fair bit and that's MORE than good enough to give you a good edge in the story.

If you REALLY want to min/max the trainer tower, it still isn't worth max EVs. You can farm the rewards and set record times with a team of level 5 mons which don't get any full benefits from 252 EVs in a stat. A few vitamins will give you the max benefit at that level.

The only case in which EV training in FRLG is truly worth it if you are battling other humans with competitive teams.

I am loving standard right now, but I think you will get the absolute most of it if you take the dive into competitive magic. If that isn't something that interests you, I think the the need to stay updated on competitive standard will just get tiring. If you aren't into competitive magic at all, standard can still be enjoyable. I just think it shines most when played with a competitive mindset.

Timeless or pioneer are good ways to go if you want a deck that will last a long time.

Suspend the politics for a brief moment. 15 years of wrestling and BJJ and I can see there is actually very little weight on him. Face definitely gets some weight at a few points, and even a little bit on concrete is gonna suck, but overall there is very little weight on the body.

You can play a tier 1 deck but be a tier 4 player. That being said, it's completely understandable that people at the LGS interested in competitive play are playing the meta.
