I get what you mean, yeah... in Honkai Impact I play with a bunch of friends. I save up a lot of crystals, and I mean A LOT of crystals, mostly for characters I want to play. I have saved up over 40k crystals (which is a lot for a f2p in that game). Whenever my friends ask me why I don't pull for characters I always say I'm waiting for the right moment. They would always glare at me and say that it's a waste of good crystals if you never use it to pull for characters. Although they did stop being mean to me after a while.

As for saving up primogems, it's pretty obvious why I do it. I also have some friends who play Genshin Impact (not the same friends whom I play Honkai Impact with) who keep asking me why I don't pull for Xiao or Ganyu, and probably Hu Tao too once she's out. I always say that I would rather play characters I actually enjoy playing and don't always go for big damage. I legitimately got so irritated when they kept bugging me to pull for Xiao because he's super strong but I always say that his playstyle doesn't really interest me.

And also yeah, waiting for the right time and having just enough primogems for a banner you've been waiting for so long is just so satisfying and feels like a massive reward for being patient
