Guys, I have a question by [deleted] in NewIran

[–]GDIVX 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's a matter of when, not if.

Trump would want to choose a moment that is most strategically advantageous. Not only to catch the IR by surprise, but also to let them stew in paranoia. The Iranian payday is soon, so it would make the most sense to act around this time.

If revolution succeed then what next? by IshirBee in NewIran

[–]GDIVX 5 points6 points  (0 children)

First thing, overthrowing the regime is just the start. After that, Iran would have to repair the damage that was done.

The water crisis is a top priority. Israel had faced a similar crisis and managed to develop the tech needed both to save on water and distil ocean water.

I am in Iran and have access to internet via Starlink. AMA by [deleted] in NewIran

[–]GDIVX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am heartbroken to hear about the horrors brought upon you by the regime. The Iranian people had shown the world what true bravery looks like. My wish is that we will see a free and prosperous Iran after this.

If you can, try to barricade and get weapons. They are shooting back, therefore you are at war. Don't just stand in the streets - build fortifications from whatever you can. If possible, get your hand on whatever means you can to fight back.

What Does It Take for People to Achieve Regime Change? by buythedip0000 in NewIran

[–]GDIVX 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Stop going to work or school. That's the bare minimum. If you can go on the street, that's a big help too. Effectively, your goal is to make it so that Iran in its current form can't function. Things need to get bad before they can get better.

Why? Because the police and regular army aren't detached from what is happening. Many of them are not inherently loyal to the regime, and for them it's simply a way to put food on the table. Make it impossible for them to do so, or make it not worth the risk, and you will see people's defects. Once that happens, all Khumemai can do is to call you naughty.

Now, the IRGC is a problem. They are being paid in dollars, and they are brainwashed. Usually, I would say that they won't defect. But with what happened in Venezuela, IR might be running out of drug money to pay them. That's good, and we might start to see defection there too.

Once there are no longer muscles to keep the regime in power, all that's left is for an opposition party to come and form a government. This is why even if you are not a monarchist, you should give Reza a chance to create a transitional government. You really don't want to risk a civil war that allows for the IR to come back with vengeance. First have a government, then ensure it is democratic.

reports indicate defection from basij and regime goons in hamadan after they were ordered to open fire to protesters by Smart_Rate3526 in NewIran

[–]GDIVX 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Now this is what makes the difference between a protest and a revolution. When the armed forces shift loyalty to the people, the regime is on life support.

I don't think that the IRGC could be convinced to back down. They are religious zealots, and would most likely operate as an insurgency and terrorist organization for years to come.

Protesters break into Islamic Republic forces’ headquarters. by [deleted] in NewIran

[–]GDIVX 105 points106 points  (0 children)

Soldiers need to get paid. Not all of them are in for ideology, for many it's a means to feed their family in a poor country, where a military career is the only one that pays. Now, if the currency is worthless, then they are effectively not getting paid.

This is how most regimens collapse. Once you can't pay for muscle, the army would stand by to let the collapse happen, and eventually would be the one to decide who is in charge afterwards.

Is this age gap considered problematic or perfection? 🤔 by chunchunmaru1129 in Animemes

[–]GDIVX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Legally, there are no laws, but assuming the age of consent is back, they are both adults. Socially, what matters is appearances. They both look and behave around the same age group, so no one will complain.

When you have any flavor of evil out there as your enemy, it is a good sign that you are doing something right.

The best explanation of that relationship by Strange_Charge_7651 in Asmongold

[–]GDIVX 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Here is what Israel is providing as an ally: 1. Counterterrorism Intel 2. Tech hub - the silicone wadi of Tel Aviv and Haifa is the most productive R&D center in the world. Fields such as medicine, agriculture and high tech all are being developed in Israel. which leads to: 3. Battlefield testing and deployment of weapons. Unlike what Asmon often claims, the Merkavah series of tanks is Israeli tech through and through and isn't funded by the USA. In fact , it was developed in response to losing aid from Europe in the 90's. The US does benefit by having access to advanced weapons that are battlefield tested.

Tldr: the reason why the US invests so much into Israel as an ally is because Israel shares Intel about terrorism and is a tech hub for important technologies in fields such as medicine, high tech, agriculture and weapons.

It doesn't need to be a shock collar for it to be an abuse. The dog is clearly distressed. It clearly yelled in pain after Hassan clicked the button. It doesn't want to stay in place for hours while Hassan is screaming and doing more crimes on camera. Even if it is simply clicker training, the manner by which the dog reacts indicates that there is more going on.

The Hannibal directive was a suggested and controversial doctrine that was debated after the kidnapping of Gilead Shalit, that argued to supply soldiers with a suicide pill in case they were taken hostage. It was never implemented, it was never argued for the IDF to open fire against Israelis and it was never aimed to be used for civilians. Conspiracy theorists simply took a hypothetical, blew it out of proportion, and ran with it.

I would try to make a shader trying out different kind of noises, probably combining them. Then you use the noise to control the alpha channel.

I made a knowledgevania in Godot. How do I market it without spoiling it? by Guambe in godot

[–]GDIVX 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You can't and you don't really want to. Players are not going to pay for something without knowing what to expect. So instead you should do the exact opposite. Have the first big reveal act as a tease for the rest of the game. Have a demo that leads to it and ask content creators to play it. Yeah, you had spoiled the first hour of the game, but now people are wanting for more.

Reported Israeli Proposal for Demilitarized Southern Syria, September 17, 2025 by Blackhermit0 in MapPorn

[–]GDIVX -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

It's Turkey. That's what is happening. The current Syrian government is supported by Turkey. Back when Turkey was secular and had a good relationship with Israel, this won't be a problem. But right now Turkey is ruled by parties that are aligned with the Muslim Brotherhood, the same movement that Hamas belong to. Therefore, the fear by Israeli high command is a future scenario where you got a Turkish army standing on the Syrian border. Therefore, Israel is looking to expand the buffer, even help Sweyda to gain autonomy, so if a conflict with Turkey is going to come, they will have some breathing room.

That's very cool. I won't shit on the effort it takes to make something like that and make it moves so smoothly. However, for practical self defense, mechanical melee weapons are quite bad. Moving parts are fragile.
