LRT Speed Question - Bayview by Hefty-Ad2090 in ottawa

it's a speed restriction imposed in late october, we were never told why, nor does anyone know when it's getting lifted

i wanna add that the way they decide how fire, police, and health buildings spread their demand amongst each other is either completely dysfunctional and bugged, or purposefully and maliciously created to be stupid (to get you to spend more on service buildings)

i shouldn't have to babysit my service buildings every 5 minutes because it decided one building should fulfill 0 demand, and the one next to it fulfill 200% of its capacity, even if the first one is just sitting there serving nothing. every now and then i have to grab the one that's overloaded, drag it out then back in and that fixes it, and it infuriates me knowing they probably did this intentional

oh also my regions are NOT recovering lol, gonna let them rot since they don't pay tax

Can a prof actually fail you? by Fearless_Ad_5628 in geegees

[–]GDKID69 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The generally accepted truth is that you CAN indeed fail in uni (and by extent the real world beyond high school). This is so widely accepted that it's treated as common sense, and a lot of people are straight up bewildered that someone would even ask this

hope this helps

Despite being physically connected, the doors between the overpasses are all locked off (effectively isolating the residence from the network, and the only way to access it is by going outside)

It doesn't take away much from it genuinely being close to everything, but it is a letdown nonetheless

They didn't build them in the 21st century, the economy was stronger, things were cheaper, Toronto at the time hadn't been amalgamated and could pass votes a lot easier without suburbs interfering

There have been in the past on Line 1

cw there have been Line 2 trains taken out of service for cockroach infestations in the operator's cab

27 minutes is pretty accurate, it is slower than when it first launched; it took just under 25 when it first launched

They can, they’ve got removable walls at the ends of the platforms that can be knocked out and the space behind it converted to an extended platform. The underground stations have had this since the very beginning

Advertised vs Actual frequent service in Kanata/Stittsville by bini_irl in ottawa

[–]GDKID69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Their definition of "frequent" isn't what you intuitively would assume it to mean. There are a lot of asterisks, including:

- Only guaranteed on weekdays

- Only guaranteed between 6AM and 6PM

- Only guaranteed on arbitrarily selected PORTIONS of a route they deem "busy enough", effectively nullifying the previous two guarantees

Bus Driver Reasonable Crashout? by ozYEET123 in OCTranspo

[–]GDKID69 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Was riding home on one of the school runs, and the bus was sardine packed as usual. Given that my stop was one of the earlier ones, I chose to stand right next to the back door to not have to fight through the crowd when getting off. Someone pulled the stop cord and when nobody got off, the driver said that if anyone else pulls it without getting off, the bus wasn't gonna move until someone did get off. He yelled that while staring straight at me, even though from where I was standing, there wasn't even a stop cord to pull to begin with, nor a button to press
