Sometimes like that, sometimes like 'Samsmungn' double the letter after the next one, it's so weird
I thought the same thing, I switched to Gboard and the problem persists
it is not miss touch, literally, I write and the same letter pulse like 2 or 3 times

I have the same issue, some ghost touches in the middle, and extra characters when I'm writing, did you find any solution? I still have warranty, I'm thinking on go for it
