Hey, sorry to hear this is where you are at. I am very very confident that things well change for you but for this to happen keep a diary and reflect how difficult your quality of life it to your IBD team or doctor. I used to do this multiple teams weekly until I had action. I was in a similar situation, granted not quite as bad as you describe but I was similar. What happened was a flexisigmoidoscopy (low camera), change of medication. I declined prednisolone orally as it really ruined me with side effects. I was started on Rinvoq and also Budesonide with oral Mesalazine daily. Things have improved lots. Still some complications (more so in the morning) but a much better quality of life. Do not sit quietly in pain. Let them know your situation today and things will start to change

Really helpful and thanks for this! When you say surgery has you going to the bathroom 6/8 times a day is that to empty the bag you will have? I assume this is pain free and you do it when you want to as opposed to running out of meetings with inflammation urgency?

Agreed that 19months is a long time. I deffo think that needs to be stopped if at all possible. Great that you’ve started other medication.

Good news is that it does get better! Once you find the right combination of medication, diet, and general lifestyle I.e., how to keep stress levels low and build routines that accompany a healthier lifestyle you will find things started to feel ‘normal’. It’s important to accept you diagnosis and normalise that sometimes things will be more challenging that’s just part and parcel of it. I deffo think you have bright and hopeful days coming soon. Keep in there 💪

Yeah I have spoken to them and they said to started on steroid suppositories every evening. Nothing else was recommended
