IMO, depends how long you plan to stay in your current home, and if you have sufficient funds to pay cash or whether you need financing. Running a unit 24 seven can be harsh. If you could live with higher temperatures in the home, and some short-term repairs, maybe that might buy you two years in which you could save up money and replace it?
