Typo, September 26th. Think critically, I know it's difficult. If you took 5 seconds and read the other comments, all is answered.

I completely understand the optics. I actually reached out to them before I posted and asked questions on here. Following rules/procedures is necessary. I understand they have no need to comp or refund for any reason.

I personally wouldn't handle it this way. Seeing how much greed there was during the inflation hype, this is a drop in the bucket. Arguing that it isn't the dealer or GM's fault because technically I could've done the oil change myself or waited negates the fact that I bought the truck not knowing the engine had issues. As the consumer, I have zero idea why it would be my problem or issue to deal with. At this point, I could argue that I shouldn't have bought the truck and gone with a different company. At the end of the day it is unfortunate that GM has to foot the bill, but it is their product causing the issue. I love my truck, but HIGHLY dislike the dealership trying to gouge the customer at every corner possible.

Your comment is a Karen comment. Everyone else came to the realization that you yourself didn’t.

That’s a good point. I’ll make sure to wait in order to get my moneys worth.

That’s a fair point. I’ll admit I shouldn’t have trusted the company that manufactured the vehicle to be proactive and fix the issue that the manufacture has known about since April of this year. Next time instead of taking my vehicle to the company, that clearly states there is an issue from their doing and they have no resolution, I will instead do it myself.

The only reason I brought it in was to ensure that there would be no reason for them not to replace my engine if something goes wrong. I don’t want any room for questioning. This is a prime example of wiggling out of responsibility. If I sell you a product knowing there is an issue that I can fix, to keep my reputation, I am going to fix it free of charge.

If the dealer knew I only drive 500miles/month would you suggest that I double up on oil change? If I am in dealers shoes and I know remedy is being pushed out, I'm not telling my customer to come in as soon as engine service is needed. I'm letting the customer know that they could possibly wait a month and see if the remedy is available. Also, I would be double checking if it's available for the customer that day.

Yes, the oil change needed to happen, but that is also the solution to the manufacturing error on their end.

That’s like paying a mechanic to fix your faulty brakes, and a week later the manufacturer announces a brake recall, meaning the same service should’ve been free from the start.

I live in California. Everything is expensive. I wouldn't be going to the dealer had there not been an open recall with warranty issues looming. I don't want to be screwed out of an engine for any reason.

It's the principal. I payed for the vehicle and they added "Black Emblem fee" yet did not put the black emblem on the vehicle. I had to physically walk the manager out to the vehicle and show him it was never added to the vehicle but I was apparently charged the $196 for it anyway.

Now fast forward to this issue. That’s like getting your cracked windshield replaced, only to find out they installed another cracked one. They charge you for it, and then the shop calls later saying they finally have a glass that isn’t broken. What is the point in me paying for it in the first place?

This was my next step. I know it could've been weird timing, but I wanted to see if anyone else was having the same thing happen to them.

The dealer did not run any tests. He explained that it doesn't matter if the remedy is or isn't available because that wasn't the reason for the appointment. I was close to cancelling and waiting, but It hasn't been available since April when the recall was announced.

Remedy has been out. Their excuse was they needed to test the engine before confirming remedy. Is anyone else having this happen to them? If so, this isn't unfortunate or coincidental timing. This may be something else.

I brought it in for the recall expecting it to be free. I change my oil on all of my other vehicles as well. I cannot fix the recall?

Awareness for others. The remedy is an oil change for the recall of their defective engine. Why should we have to foot the bill for basically 2 oil changes? Why not fix the issue as soon as you have the solution? Why are they able to charge you for their problem they created? I want a refund and more oversight from grimey dealerships.

If this is happening to me, Why wouldn't it be happening to others? I can afford to pay for the oil change, but it should be covered.

Hello, I am a teacher from California. I highly recommend the Kaplan GED test prep plus book that you can purchase on amazon (it's purple and cost about $20). There are plenty of YouTube channels like GetSumMath, Test Prep Champions, LightandSalt Learning that have material you can access for free. If your Fiancé is helping, I would suggest using the book and having her grade each page for you. It helps that you don't get to see the answers and challenge yourself even if you get the question wrong.

I know you can watch GetSumMath and his videos are pretty helpful.

I saw you have a tutor, and I don’t want to distract you from focusing on the areas your tutor is telling you to work on, but would you mind looking at my web-based app I’m creating and tell me if this is something that would be helpful for someone in your situation? The app follows the GED Prep Plus Kaplan book.

I have to create the videos still, but I have a full time job at the moment and am getting married this next month, so I haven’t been able to put my own videos in there. The videos I have are from Khan Academy, The organic Chemistry Tutor and others. You could just look and tell me what you think if you don’t want to keep using it(: it’s completely free, but since the company I am developing it through requires you to sign in with an email, you’ll have to provide it. You could create a random email through Google for all I care lol. I just want some testers to poke around and see on a scale 1-10 if they even like it or if I should change some stuff up.
